ABOUT RI: Relief International (RI) specializes in relief and development programs that benefit people in acute distress. A registered non-profit in the US, UK, France and Belgium, our work targets those fragile countries or communities that suffer from man-made or natural crises that impede human development. The people that we serve live in 14 countries across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia where the debilitating effects of political instability, forced displacement, and natural disasters are pervasive. RI has been working in Jordan since 2004, providing vital services to refugees and vulnerable host communities across the country.
 
Summary:
The Dropouts officer will support Drop out program and center coordinator in leading the implementation of RI's Educational Dropouts program in Zaatari camp. She/he will coordinate program implementation by supporting program planning and monitoring, managing operational aspects, capacity building, providing staff coordination and resolving site-level implementation issues. He/she will be responsible for overall efficient and effective functioning of dropouts educational activities in three RI centers in Zaatari camp.
Essential Position Responsibilities and Duties:

Support Center Coordinator to ensure efficient implementation of Drop out program in RI center in Zaatari camp in line with the approved project proposals and budgets.

Contribute to the development and implementation of new strategies and activities to enhance programme delivery in line with the identified needs of the beneficiaries and camp community.

Liaising with Center Coordinator to ensure ongoing monitoring and evaluation of activities, ensuring RI standards are in place and with flagging of any concerns to the Center Coordinator , senior education technical advisor and Program Manager.

Support and strengthen community and learner feedback mechanisms which enhance learners’ active engagement and participation.

Promote positive centers and team environment promoting and leading internal communications and collaboration across multiple sub-teams.

Facilitate recruitment of Jordanian facilitators and teachers, Syrian volunteers and support the        Center Coordinator to do their performance evaluations in line with RI HR procedures.

Conducting classroom observation visits, providing their feedback to the facilitators and to the Technical Advisor for further support include mentoring and coaching sessions.

Supporting Center Coordinator in coordinating with both MoE and QS to facilitate conducting several training workshops that includes all Jordanian facilitators, teachers and Syrian volunteers, in line with capacity building plans and expertise as well as identifying training gaps.

Act as a mentor and role model for less experienced staff.

Promote child protection, gender mainstreaming, and helping Center Coordinator to ensure their implementation in the field.

Work closely with logistics staff to ensure operations at the three locations are smooth and efficient.

Support the Center Coordinator in arranging the donor and MoE field visits.

Assisting Center Coordinator in leading community mobilization and outreach activities and conducting awareness sessions on certified non-formal education "Dropouts program" legislations and producers and develop innovative ways for recruiting and retention of student to the end of the three cycles. 

Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the line manager.

 
Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Education/Social Work/Youth development or similar field.

Minimum of two years of relevant work experience,

Experience in adolescent and youth work.

Experience and knowledge in certified non-formal education is a plus.

Exceptional analytical, organizational, managerial and communication skills.

Previous managerial experience in the NGO sector, especially in refugee camp, will be a distinctive asset.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking and strategic planning skills required, including patience, diplomacy, willingness to listen and respect for colleagues and partners.

Excellent time management skills and resourcefulness with strong attention to detail.

Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

High level of creativity and coordination.

Fluency in Arabic and English is required.

Information and computer literacy (MS Office package).
