Introduction
RAMP is the Early Grade Reading and Mathematics Initiative that is being implemented by RTI
International. RAMP is a national Ministry of Education (MOE) led initiative designed to improve the
reading and mathematics skills of students in Jordan from KG 2 through Grade 3.

Position Description
RAMP is seeking to appoint a Senior Education Program Officer to work under the supervision of the
Senior Education Program Specialist. The selected candidate will Leads and coordinates the
implementation of the project activities and provide technical expertise. Maintains relationships with
key sector partners, donors, consultants, host country counterparts and stakeholders. Collaborates with
colleagues across RTI on technical, administrative, and strategic planning initiatives. Ensures successful
implementation of project. Ensures best practices and lessons learned are captured and disseminated
across project. May serve as a representative of the project to clients, stakeholders, and partners,
providing key inputs for technical or management decisions. Responsible for managing program
deliverables including planning and coordination of all activities.

He/She will contribute to the following:
Tasks:

Design and implementation of a training of trainers (TOT) program for all MOE trainers and other trainers contracted by RAMP.

Assist in designing an in-service training program for all Jordanian teachers to introduce them to the RAMP methodologies, teaching and learning materials, assessment procedures and a range of other general teaching components.

Coordination of RAMP in-service training activities with the Jordanian MOE at the central and Field Directorate levels.

Monitor RAMP in-service training and coaching progress.

Support the RAMP team in the development of innovative school-based approaches for teacher training e.g. community of practice; use of social media, etc.

Assist in the development of reading and mathematics curricular materials with MOE Curriculum and Textbooks Directorate.

Required Qualifications
The successful applicant is expected to have the following minimum professional experience:

Post graduate degree / Master’s Degree in education, social sciences, or a related field.

5 years of experience in either in- or pre-service teacher training, as well as in developing curricular materials for either early grade reading or mathematics, with a portfolio of completed assignments

Knowledge of Jordanian and/or regional public school context.

Experience in developing in- or pre-service teacher training materials.

Experience in developing curriculum materials for either reading or mathematics.

Fluency in Arabic language is required, English language is also preferred.

Evidence of strong writing skills in Arabic and English.
