Gas Power Station Superintendent
Job Summary
- Reviewing the tasks carried out by the 4 Shift Supervisors to ensure the smooth operation of the Combined Cycle Systems with the highest possible efficiency to reduce the running costs.
- Attending the daily maintenance meeting to follow up the progress on the ongoing/pending tasks.
- Conducting walk-rounds in the Combined Cycle Systems to ensure the commitment of employees to the work instructions and the compliance of equipment performance with the operational manuals.
- Reviewing all the reports (daily, weekly, & monthly) prepared by the supervisors or the Lab to follow up the performance of the Combined Cycle Systems,
- Monitoring the efficiency of the Gas Turbine, the HRSG, the electrical generator, and all other equipment in the Combined Cycle Systems.
- Reporting the operations' KPIs on regular basis and direct the team for alignment; ensure the full control on the identified related risks in joint with the concerned departments.
- Carrying out the necessary studies and taking the necessary actions for optimizing the operation of the equipment within the Combined Cycle Systems to minimize the consumption of fuel and treated water.
- Identifying the beneficial capital projects that improve the performance of equipment, human performance, and the safety level in the Combined Cycle Systems.
- Participating in preparing the specifications, scope of work, evaluating the technical offers, and following up the implementation and the commissioning of the projects.
- Coordinating with the Procurement Department to avail all the requested materials for the Combined Cycle Systems through issuing purchase requests and service requests on the Oracle system and matching the received materials with the requested ones.
- Preparing the Authorization for Expenditure Forms (AFEs) related to the Combined Cycle Systems' projects.
- Issuing work orders to avail the required materials from the warehouse as needed for the Combined Cycle Systems.
- Updating the work procedures for the Combined Cycle Systems equipment whenever needed.
- Monitoring and controlling the pollutants in the Combined Cycle Systems to meet the local legislations.
- Preparing the Task Risk Assessments (TRAs) for all the tasks in the Combined Cycle Systems to enable the employees to carry out their tasks safely with no accidents.
- Conducting regular safety meetings with subordinates, conducting scheduled safety tours at workplaces to ensure safe behavior and safe conditions according to the safety policies, procedures and safety requirements and intervene with actions as required.
- Managing the application of housekeeping 5S measures for the related workplace and monitor the performance, coordinate to rectify all notes with concerned department.
- Complying with all APC policies and procedures and share them with the subordinates to assure all are understood and implemented effectively as per APC directions, regulations, and ISO standards.
- Training on the Gas Power Station system and equipment and preparing the on-job training materials for the Combined Cycle Systems staff.
- Performing other duties as required.
Skills
- Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- At least 8 years of experience in Gas Power Stations / Combined Cycles.
- Fluent in English language writing, reading, and presenting.
- Computer skills (Proficiency in MS office).
- Analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Teamwork& Follow up skills.
- Passing the special Exams & Interviews determined for this job.
- The successful candidate has to be a non-smoker.
