Reconciliation & Payments Analytics Officer in our office in Amman, Jordan

The Reconciliation & Payments Analytics Officer is responsible for developing broad skills to support personal growth and organizational success. The responsibilities and qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required by our company.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and performing the reconciliation of clients’ funds daily.
  • Preparing daily balances reports for all banks and payment solution providers (PSPs).
  • Follow up errors to be corrected and ability to coordinate with relevant departments in the company.
  • Communicate with external payment providers and banks on discrepancies and info required.
  • Preparing monthly reports regarding Balances, Losses, Charges and Chargebacks.
  • Preparing various daily/weekly/monthly reports, related to client funds and balances.
  • Identifying, investigating, and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner liaising internally and externally as appropriate.
  • Liaise with other departments to investigate discrepancies including developers, finance, and auditors.
  • Daily monitoring of financial institutions and payment providers balances and assessing any settlement or transfer that needs to be requested. Credit risk analysis on vendors.
  • Delivering management information from the Reconciliation Team.
  • Manage personal and team workloads when needed.
  • Adhere to corporate standards and procedures relating to reconciliation activities.
  • Review and address daily queue of inquiries from the business and other Operations teams related to the reconciliation.
  • Prepare and present daily and monthly metrics on recon status.
  • Organization and delivery of reconciliation information to the Internal Audit and Reporting team.
  • Communication and coordination with various departments within the Company and third parties for issue resolution.
  • Identifying and designing refinements for the reconciliation process and pass the logic to the team.
  • Working with project managers on software/tools to automate the reconciliation process/checks.
  • Working with business intelligence team on reports, gathering requirements and assisting to deliver the business with data analysis related to payments and the cash flow.
  • Manage, review, and update internal issue logs and report periodically when there is a reconciliation gap. Follow through to resolution of any gaps and provide relevant documentation on the resolutions.
  • Audit and maintain safekeeping records of discrepancies.
  • Document and provide input for monthly reports to management on identified control gaps and key exceptions with needed process improvement opportunities.
  • Readily available for ad hoc requests from management.

Skills & Competencies

  • Computer literacy with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office package
  • Excellent data entry skills.
  • Proven analytical abilities, problem solving and investigative skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify issues and following through to resolution.
  • Excellent time-management skills: Comfortable working in a high-pressure environment and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and monitoring skills.
  • Discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Team player with the ability to cooperate with multiple parties.
  • Able to adjust easily to any new product and payment method on boarded by the company.

Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/ Finance/ Economics.
  • Experience in a finance/accounting/reconciliation role of minimum 2 years.
  • Experience in a relevant role within an FX environment considered an advantage.
  • Experience with CRM/CMS and how this is linked to client transactions will be considered as an advantage.
  • Experience in data analysis and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge required.
  • Knowledge of SAP accounting software is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of reconciliation software will be considered as an advantage.
  • Highly proficient user of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Previous experience in the forex industry will be considered an advantage but not essential.
