POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Youth Development Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall management and operation of Amideast’s donor-funded programs implemented across Jordan targeting youth skills development in English, community development STEM, and more. The Program Coordinator oversees program logistics, administration of processes and fund disbursement, donor reporting and quality assurance.

In collaboration and coordination with the Country Director and Senior Manager for T&P, the Program Coordinator supports development of proposals and budgets of new opportunities targeting youth in Jordan. The Program Coordinator also oversees formal communication and reporting to donors and partners post-award, ensuring timely, professional and accurate report are submitted on schedule in close coordination with award review processes at the country and head office level and ensuring compliance with donor requirements and regulations.

The Program Coordinator reports to the Senior Manager for Training and Partnerships and coordinates program activities with other departments in Jordan as well as relevant parties at Amideast Headquarters and the Regional Directors of English Language, Workforce Development, Monitoring & Evaluation and Training.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively coordinate with Amideast partners in the Government of Jordan, particularly the Ministry of Youth, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Digital Economy & Entrepreneurship
  • Lead on program implementation, recruitment of teachers, trainers and facilitators as well as outreach and recruitment of youth and participants in upcoming programs in target areas
  • Support development and use of monitoring and evaluation tools in line with organizational and donor requirements
  • Support development of new proposals and budgets for upcoming programs and opportunities for youth-focused programs
  • Build and sustain partnerships with organizations, ministries and local community organizations to ensure high quality and participatory implementation in all phases
  • Attend local or regional events representing Amideast aligned with Amideast’s programs in training and development to create new partnerships, network, identify potential funding partners and partners in new projects
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities to develop youth skills and competencies in line with 21st century skills need
  • Analyze market trends and develop outreach strategies for current and upcoming programs
  • Review and analyze financial and program performance of each program
  • Develop comprehensive implementation plan for each program
  • Participate in annual budgeting process
  • Supervise all relevant program staff
  • Prepare reports for clients, programs and internal requests as required
  • Ensure sufficient internal controls for procurement, vendor selection, requisition and payment are enacted in compliance with Amideast policies, local laws of Jordan and U.S. regulations
  • Strengthen department capacity by planning needs-based professional development

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Required

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in business development, project management, development, program coordination. Experience in the MENA region and in youth development is preferred
  • Demonstrated strong proposal and program management skills including budgeting and proposal development
  • Proficiency in English is B2 (CEFR Level Alignment) and above
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of current trends in development, donor strategies, national trends and evolving needs and focus areas of youth, jobseekers, and other focus groups
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as relevant platforms such as Prezi, PowerPoint, Keynote or other professional presentation tools
  • Native Arabic speaker
  • Ability to manage, coach and develop staff
  • Handles pressure and can work under deadlines with high quality output
  • Strong organizational, supervisory, coordination, and interpersonal skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The incumbent in this position will work in a professional office environment and will utilize the following equipment when working from the corporate office or remote home office (either on a full time, temporary, or hybrid basis).

  • Telephone

Up to 25% business travel may be needed to support program management, reporting and quality assurance processes as needed.
