Basic Job Description:
Plan, Organize & Supervise the activities to make sure that all services rendered meet consistent quality standards. Their duties include, understanding customer requirements, developing and implementing quality control & assurance procedures, inspecting services at sites at various stages and writing reports documenting quality issues, Auditing etc, for all NDT, Advance NDT & Inspection Departments in Apave Gulf LLC Oman. Duties and responsibilities include formulating policies, supervising & directing quality operations, and planning and or checking the adequacy of Equipment, materials and training human resources allocated to all departments. Quality Control & Assurance positions are very important and they are expected to be highly conscientious and responsible employees, as sub-standard services could cost a company significant loss of reputation.
Qualifications & Experience:

Degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, metallurgy or material science. Relevant experience in a similar position may be accepted with appropriate qualifications in inspection and NDE.
Certifications to ASNT level III in conventional NDT Methods. (RT, UT, MT, PT, & ET)
Certifications to Level 3 in PAUT & TOFD in line with ISO 9712- (PCN/CSWIP).
Internal Auditor /Lead Auditor Certification in accordance to ISO 9001 standards.
Other certifications in inspection such as Welding Inspection, Coating Inspection, or In-service inspections will be an added advantage Eg: AWS, CSWIP, BGAS, NACE, API
Minimum15 years experience in oil & gas or petrochemical industries, in NDT of pressure vessels, Piping, Weldments etc., out of which 5 years in a supervisory/Managerial position.
Shall have sound knowledge in quality management aspects within various technical disciplines and shall be familiar with standards and codes used in oil and gas industries.
Thorough Computer literate on Windows operating systems such as word, Power point, & Excel etc.

Reporting to Project Manager/General Manager, & /Chief Operating Officer shall be responsible for:
– Preparation, Review & Validation of method statements & Procedures for all kind of NDT, ANDT & Inspection work, and support for technical tender documents as required by the client's tender documents.
– Recruitment of suitably qualified NDT/ANDT/TP inspectors in order to maintain a pool of inspectors as required for the job locally as directed by the Department managers.
– Deployment of inspectors in local market as per the client's requirements. Maintain Personnel Qualification & certifications of all TPI, NDT & ANDT Inspectors
– Communicate between other Apave offices and clients in order to plan, organize and execute all NDT inspection activities in line with the client requirement.
– Review and submission of all TPI, NDT & ANDT reports to customers.
– Obtain & maintain all vendor registrations, Approvals & references from all customers primarily O&G producers and operators in Oman.
– Update and Maintain the Apave Inspection Management System (AIMS) as required.
– Update & maintain staff technical training, Qualification and experience matrix as required.
– Maintain all relevant records in Hard copies and/or electronic copies for the auditing by external and internal stake holders.
– Attend and/or advice on critical NDT jobs locally and provides expert advice when needed.
– Meet new clients and introduce the company services and conduct introductory presentations to senior managers and executives.
– Provide technical support in line with the relevant international standards to all inspectors and clients involved in the TPI, NDT & ANDT projects in the following fields but not limited to:

Conventional NDT
Special NDT including TOFD and Phased Array.
Rope Access services (IRATA) Inspection services
Acoustic Emission services
Magnetic Flux Leakage Inspections
Intelligent Pigging
OCTG Inspection Services
Pulse Eddy Current Inspections
Tube Inspections- IRIS, ECT,RFT, MFL etc
Long Range Ultrasonics/ Guided Wave
Third Party Inspection Services

– Support the training ventures and conduct technical trainings sessions in NDT and various fields he is competent for.
– Conduct Training programs for Inspectors, Internal & External in all inspection, NDT, and Advance NDT subjects as required.
– Conduct competence assessments and Gap Analysis for all inspectors and take necessary steps to correct the gap identified and main all records.
– Conduct site visits, site inspections, and produce site inspection reports.
– Checking all equipment and tools at an appropriate interval and advise the management the issues related to its condition, usability, serviceability etc, along with possible corrective actions required.
– Advise the management about the new technologies/inventions and its opportunities, applications etc for the potential use of business development activities.
– Performance monitoring of every crew/ individual.
– Investigate in to customer complaints and take necessary steps to resolve the complaint. Ensure that the recurrence is also arrested through appropriate process modifications as necessary and all records are maintained.
– Carry out/ Lead the internal Quality Audits.
– Resolve Quality related issues to meet the customer needs.
– Produce Monthly activity & progress reports to the management and client's as necessary.
– Identify and recommend improvement suggestions on a continuous basis.- Prepare/Review/update quality control and assurance procedures as and when necessary.
– Ensure that all inspections are carried out in accordance with the international standards and results are in full compliance.
– Participate in all technical meetings and HSE meetings.
– Review of inspection records and ensure the adequacy in terms of quality and objectivity.
– Be responsible for implementation, operation and maintenance of Quality Management System in compliance with contract and SP-1171.
– Be responsible for allocation of quality resources and for Quality training for all project personnel.
– Manage and ensure project quality targets are achieved.
– Identify and manage risks that may have impact on quality and technical integrity.
– Provide support and guidance to all Project Team members on quality related matters.
-Ensure compliance of all project functions, Sub-suppliers and Vendors with the Project Quality Management System requirements.
– Be responsible for advising, guiding and motivating project line management on all Quality and verification activities and related technical matters.
– Provide input and steer to the annual QMS Management Review and track opportunities for improvement.
– Liaise with Company on matters related to Quality.
Main HSE Duties:

Ensure PTW requirements if any.
Ensures that all site activities are carried out in accordance with HSE procedures.
Attends the HSE meetings with the client and apprise HSE related matters.
Conducts inspections of work sites to eliminate potential hazards and unsafe behavior.
Ensures that site personnel are competent to work safely as per HSE procedures.
Ensures the observation of road traffic safety procedures by site personnel
Takes immediate action to prevent unsafe or unhealthy working conditions
Investigating and reporting promptly all accidents and unsafe acts.
Ensures/conduct regular HSE meeting to encourage greater awareness of HSE among staff.
Be aware of the client's and contract HSE requirements applicable to work at site, in the offices and during leisure time.
Perform activities to conform to client's and Contract HSE requirements to preserve the health and well being of themselves and all of other personnel.
Stops any activity that does not conform to any of the Client's and Contract HSE requirements.
Communicate with Corporate HSE advisor for HSE matters.
Be responsible for the calibration and maintenance of all safety equipment.
