Principal Engineer – Marine/Coastal

Job Description

Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Marine Engineer, you will be involved managing and advising on any issues involving Marine related construction, such as the Marina, from a multidisciplinary point of view, from design through to construction and commissioning/ handover. You will also advise on enabling/ temporary works needed in the marine environment for construction, including logistics and feasibility advice and assessment for different types of construction solutions to meet specific challenges associated with working on a remote island in the red sea 20km from the nearest mainland point.
Responsibilities:

  • Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepares technical specification sections.
  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • 15 years experience in marine related work
  • You must have marine experience both onshore/offshore
  • You must have marine design experience including design reviews
  • You must be able to demonstrate problem solving skills
  • It would be advantageous to have experience in construction stage
  • Detailed knowledge of AECOM's standards, policies and procedures
  • Excellent command of English (Written and spoken)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree educated in Civil/Structural Engineering
