We are looking to hire an experienced Workshop manager to set up and run a workshop facility. The successful candidate will report directly to the Engineering Manager and have a minimum of 8‐10 years’ experience in setting up and running a multifunctional workshop.
Responsibilities:
– Responsible for ensuring and implementing a Quality Management System for Fabrication, Prefabrication and Modularization works and final products assembly.
– Responsible for implementing a rigorous Quality Checking system for specification adherence, work standards with quality check points from material acceptance to final product assembly.
– To ensure orders are provided on time to a schedule and committed delivery dates
– To manage the co‐ordination of manpower resources and activities so that production throughput is not affected.
– To ensure effective internal controls and management information systems are in place, including the effective measurement and formal reporting of performance within the department.
– To ensure that any technical problems arising from day‐to‐day activities are resolved in a timely manner.
– To ensure work packages are properly budgeted for material, manpower and consumables and work packages are constantly reviewed for adherence to costs and margins.
– To ensure that expenditures of the Workshop team are within the authorized annual budget of the Company.
– This will be integrated with the budgets, safety requirements, schedule, and delivery date commitments.
– To ensure that all staff working within the Fabrication and Assembly teams understand the Company’s performance expectations and that these are supported by relevant job descriptions, training plans and employee performance reviews.
– To ensure that all staff working with the Fabrication and Assembly teams perform to the best of their abilities and are made accountable for their performance at work.
– To ensure that all staff working within the Fabrication and Assembly teams are provided with information on the Company’s performance and future, principally through formal briefing processes and reviews.
– To ensure that the Company has appropriate systems to enable it to conduct its Fabrication and Assembly activities both lawfully and ethically.
– To provide ‘Continuous Improvement’ initiatives within the Department.
– Responsible for ensuring the safety of all staff within a safe environment.
– To ensure the diligent implementation of daily workshop tasks such as but not limited to;
- Tool Box meetings
- Lifting and Loading
- Task based Risk Analysis
- Implementing Authority Rules and Regulations
- Ensuring all Code requirements are met
– To maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the workshop facility

Requirements:
– Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Production) or Business Administration
– 8‐10 years’ experience in setting up and running a multifunctional workshop
– Experience in running and growing a facility for year‐on‐year increased throughput and capacity on a progressive basis.
– Experience in Planning and sequencing the workflow through the facility
– Knowledge in Budgeting, maintaining, and increasing profitability through optimization
– Management skills for material procurement, inventory, storage, and Logistic systems.
– Strong leaderships, coaching and motivation skills to enhance team performance.
– Controlling quality and ensuring targets are achieved in accordance with contractual and project requirements
– Monitoring internal and external interfaces related to Depot and Workshop equipment
– Proficient in use of all body shop equipment
– Always enforce and maintain the Company Health & Safety Policy and procedures and treating the health and safety of all employees as a priority
– Training & personal development, focusing on promoting multi skilling
– Focus on reducing Customer Complaints through the management of an effective return’s procedure.
