The Amazon Payment Services team is responsible to build product and technology solutions to build great payments products and experiences using various technologies to solve complex problems related to distributed systems, scalable architecture, machine learning, and algorithms.
We're looking for SDE-Ts who are hungry to build things from scratch, leverage existing solutions, and who can bring next-generation test automation technologies into a fresh new space. We're looking to move fast; our SDETs will implement test frameworks and pipelines, then train up development teams in their care and maintenance so that continuous quality can be self-sustaining. Key job responsibilities

Analyze QAE tasks for automation opportunities
Design and implement test tools and frameworks
Project test plan creation and execution.
Gathering and reporting relevant and actionable metrics.
Enforcing, auditing, and streamlining software test and delivery processes.
Collaborating with development teams and your team peers to identify and prioritize opportunities for automation.
Building and debugging automation
When you're ready, start mentoring junior engineers so they can become as good as you are.
Maintain a high quality bar by constantly improving existing QA practices.
Creating/Maintaining high quality testing documentation

BS in Computer Science or related field, 4+ years of relevant work experience.
4+ years professional experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Experience developing automation in at least one of OO languages – Java, C#/C++, Python or web based technologies
Demonstrated experience in API, Web, automated testing and test framework design and development.
Troubleshooting/Debugging experience
Able to think and act both strategically and tactically to deal with ambiguity, manage changing priorities, and influence others.
Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to think clearly and analytically, problem solving, scope business requirements, and prioritize work on projects.
Strong analytic and problem-solving skills

Ability to effectively articulate technical limitations and solutions
Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly
Experienced in Agile or Scrum software development methodologies
Experience influencing software engineering best practices within your team
Experience with standard QA tools and practices, such as functional API testing, integration testing, and UI functionality and usability testing, with a passion for automation
