Overall purpose of the role:

The IT Assistant provides efficient and effective first level IT support services to end-users, in accordance with established standards, policies and operating procedures.

Key Accountabilities:

Configuring new equipment, as well as installing software and providing users with their requests for IT services such as application systems or equipment resources.

Identifying and resolving/escalating reported incidents related to computer hardware and software, mobile devices and other technology related tools and products, access issues, connectivity, telephony, video conferencing and software operational problems; analyzing issues and incidents, identifying systemic problems and recommending appropriate solutions, and contributing to organization IT infrastructure.

IT assets management and tracking.

Identifying and resolving/escalating reported applications systems functional and/or operational issues and problems in coordination with the second level support teams

Maintaining and updating standard IT Services.

Troubleshoot and solve arising software and hardware problems for PCs, laptops, Local Area Network etc as appropriate and seek outside assistance when necessary.

Manage Internet services.

Carrying out regular data backup on client and server machines.

Regional office & field staff user IT support & Administration, including systems troubleshooting and issue resolution.    

Perform research into efficient IT systems for incorporation into the Unit

Perform other duties as required.
