Background/IRC Summary: 
 
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Founded in 1933, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster.
The International Rescue Committee began relief operations in Jordan in 2007. Working together with six national and international organizations, and 19 community-based organizations, the IRC has provided 20,000 vulnerable Iraqi refugees with humanitarian assistance, mental health support and informal education.   
Job Overview/Summary:
IRC is recruiting a cleaner, based in Amman. Under the direct supervision of the Administrative Officer, the cleaner will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining IRC Offices and temporary accommodation guest houses in a clean and safe status.
Major Responsibilities:

Ensure that all offices, kitchen, meeting rooms, bathrooms and IRC temporary accommodation are clean, tidy, and in order by performing tasks on schedule basis including but not limited to:

Vacuum and/or mop all floors, including under rugs, baseboards and in corners.

Dust residence, tops of cabinets, doors, door frames, and curtains.

Clean inside of all the windows including window tracks and screens (if applicable).

Dust and clean doors, mirrors inside and surface of all cabinet and furniture.

Clean and dust all lamps and lamp shades. Clean all ceiling light fixtures.

Clean balconies and entrance walk ways including balcony railings and shutters.

Clean and sweep out storage unit.

Empty trash bins on daily basis and deposit the rubbish in the designated area.

Clean all bathroom furnishings (e.g. Toilets, sink, tile walls, etc.).

Polish chrome avoiding any chemicals or scouring that scratches the surface.

Clean inside and outside of all kitchen appliances; Fridge, freezer including removing, washing and drying all shelves and drawers. Pull out units and clean under and behind the appliance.

Weekly emptying and cleaning of shared fridge.

Clean inside and outside of all kitchen cabinets and counter tops.

Clean kitchen tile walls.

Clean IRC guesthouse(s), this will be performed 3 times per week on rotational basis including all rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and the entrances.

Clean shared areas like entrance, stairways, elevators,… etc.

Responsible for all the kitchen supplies Tea, Sugar, Nescafe etc, as well as the cleaning supplies, besides providing the supervisor with the list of supplies required on a monthly basis.

Offering welcome drinks to IRC guests if requested by host/hostess as well as arrange catering (coffee breaks) for internal events.

Any other duties assigned.

Job Requirements:

Good knowledge on cleaning work.

Native Arabic-speaker and bbasic English language skills.

Preferably with an Iinternational NGO or multi-national firm.
