Job Overview:
The Software Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the technology strategy and execution for our media network and digital media TV Group. The Software Engineering Manager will be responsible for ensuring that our technology is aligned with our business goals and that we are using the latest technology to achieve our objectives. This position will oversee all aspects of technology including development, infrastructure, security, operations and software development best principles and practices. The Software Engineering Manager Will work closely with the CEO, executive team, and other stakeholders to ensure that technology is used effectively to drive growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the Roya Media Group's (RMG) technology strategy to support our digital media and TV platforms, ensuring alignment with business goals, objectives and supports growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Identify and prioritise technology investments, including hardware, software and infrastructure, to support our growth and scalability needs.
- Oversee the design, development and deployment of our digital media and TV products, ensuring high-quality and reliable performance.
- Lead the technical team, providing direction, guidance and mentorship to ensure team members are motivated, productive and aligned with the RMG's objectives.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and ensuring vendor (outsource service providers) performance meets our expectations
- Lead the development of new digital products and services and oversee the delivery of technology solutions that meet the needs of our audiences and partners.
- Drive innovation and foster a culture of continuous improvement by staying up to date with the latest technology trends, identifying emerging technologies that can be leveraged, and encouraging experimentation and innovation.
- Oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of all technology systems and platforms, including infrastructure, applications, and security.
- Manage the technology budget and ensure that technology investments are aligned with business objectives and deliver a positive ROI.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork between technology and other departments, such as product development, marketing, and operations.
- Lead the hiring, training, and development of technology staff and ensure that the technology team has the skills and resources necessary to achieve business objectives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with technology vendors and partners to ensure that we are leveraging the best technology solutions and services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- +8 years of experience as a Software Engineering Manager roles, preferably in the media or digital media industry.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing technology strategies that drive growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Strong understanding of the latest technology trends and their potential applications in the media industry.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing large technology
