JOB PURPOSE: The media and communications officer will assist the media and communications team’s efforts to maximize Oxfam in Jordan exposure, and help develop, and deliver the organization’s messages and campaigns.

In addition, an ideal candidate will also have:
Minimum 5 years of experience working in communications or related fields, preferably in a media environment.
High levels of organization and planning skills, understanding how to plan and implement a strategy and capable of working independently
High level of verbal and written communication skills, both in Arabic and English, with an emphasis on a clear and direct, easy to read written style.
Strong organizational and personal management skills, with ability to priorities work issues to meet deadlines.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships
Good analytical, conceptual and creative thinking skills with good strategic perspective, able to understand complex issues and information from different sources and present this clearly and simply
Ability to work creatively, effectively and in an innovative manner and to identify and develop new ways to use the media to Oxfam’s advantage.
