PURPOSE & SCOPE: During tendering stage, responsible for the review of enquiry documentation and the Scope of Work, perform pre-bid engineering, estimate man-hours and thus provide required inputs for bid preparation. After award of Project, work as Principal Process Engineer with complete responsibility of correctness and accuracy of the Process Deliverables issued on the Project deliverables. This responsibility includes guiding \/training of Process Engineers as required and close coordination with other engineering disciplines and client's project team. The job holders at this level should have aptitude to work at managing level to work as Project Engineering Coordinators based on the size and complexity of the assigned project. The focus will shift from one of deep discipline knowledge to that of coordinating the various engineering disciplines involved in assigned projects and deputize for Head of Discipline during his absence from office. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
\u2022 Reports to H.O.D. (Process & Safety) and works under his overall supervision
\u2022 During tendering stage, reviews enquiry documentation from client together with Scope of Work; raises queries where there is lack of clarity, interfaces with other disciplines to ensure integration of activities and finally provide Process inputs during bid preparation. On award of projects perform as under.
\u2022 Responsible for complete Process Design and Engineering works on a project, includes optimisation and correctness of design; cost considerations, man-hours control and providing guidance and training to the Process Engineers working on the Project.
\u2022 Coordinates with Project Engineering Manager assigned to the Project
\u2022 Co-ordinates with Project Manager, Clients, other Discipline Engineers, Consultants, Vendors, etc. as required.
\u2022 Develop scope for Sub contractors related to Process works as per Project requirements.
\u2022 Develop Process Design Basis based on scope of work, subsequent client's clarifications an
Skills Required
\u2022 B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from a reputed institute
\u2022 Minimum of 12 years experience in the oil and gas plants Design and Engineering, out of which minimum 6 years should be in LDE role.
\u2022 Knowledge and expertise in using process-engineering software like HYSIS, PIPESIM, PIPEPHASE essential
\u2022 Knowledge of OLGA, TGNET is preferred.
\u2022 Proven supervisory track record in major projects and management potential.
\u2022 Planning & organizing skills.
\u2022 Proficiency in guiding Process Engineers working for him.
\u2022 Have skill of coordinating with other disciplines and clients.
\u2022 Proven skills in routine process calculations and use of process software and in-house developed spreadsheets.
\u2022 Thorough knowledge of interdisciplinary interfaces.
\u2022 Good knowledge of relevant engineering codes and standards.
\u2022 Good command of written and spoken English and report writing.
\u2022 Good technical knowledge and skills.
\u2022 Good interpersonal relationship.
\u2022 Should be familiar with routine safety studies like HAZOP, HAZID, and SIMOPS etc.
\u2022 Experience of leading engineering work in mega size EPC projects.<\/p>\n
