DESCRIPTION<\/strong><\/p>\nAmazon is looking for a talented Program Manager to build import and export risk management and product compliance solutions for growing international businesses.<\/p>\n
You will support these businesses from the prototype phase of building new risk frameworks, products and technology through global launch by executing on a broad range of global trade compliance matters. In executing this role, you will work directly with internal legal, logistics, supply chain, tax, transfer pricing, finance, and engineering teams, Amazon\u2019s global network of trade and compliance teams, and a variety of external Amazon partners.<\/p>\n
Key job responsibilities<\/p>\n
The project manager is responsible for leading the team to success. A project manager uses team-building techniques, motivation, influencing, decision-making and coaching skills to drive progress. Project managers integrate all project work by developing the project management plan, directing the work, documenting reports, controlling change, and monitoring quality.<\/p>\n
You will be responsible for managing the life-cycle of cross-functional programs across Amazon organizations independently. You will define the risk programs, set objectives, and drive improvements to your space that are quantified with metrics.<\/p>\n
You will partner with internal and external stakeholders including business teams, public policy, trade legal and regulators to interpret and apply regulations to business processes. Your solutions will be flexible and capable of scaling across various customized technologies, business models\/supply chain arcs, and country regulatory regimes.<\/p>\n
You will clearly identify timelines and owners, and drive progress at the appropriate speed to reduce risk to some of the world\u2019s most cutting-edge technology teams.<\/p>\n
To successfully build your compliance solutions across cross-functional teams, you will earn trust with stakeholders by learning about and understanding their business lines and products. You will drive alignment by providing near and long term considerations and impacts, and highlight recommended trade-offs and priorities.<\/p>\n
A day in the life<\/p>\n
Your daily activities will include balancing the scope, schedule, and cost of a project by managing engagement with stakeholders. You will drive the best way forward and build consensus.<\/p>\n
In making decisions, you will act quickly to balance risk and customer experience. You will test assumptions by getting feedback from the right input providers across the company and reviewing metrics and benchmarks.<\/p>\n
Clear and compelling communication is critical to success in this role. You will communicate risks, proposals, regulatory updates and strategies to internal and external stakeholders in meetings and documents.<\/p>\n

The GTS International Expansions team supports this commitment by managing the scoping and implementation of new country launches and new business model expansion projects for existing countries where products move internationally and where Amazon is the Importer of Record (IOR) and\/or Exporter of Record (EOR).<\/p>\n
Basic Qualifications
<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Bachelor\u2019s degree in Operations Management, Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field<\/li>\n
- 3+ years of experience in process definition, having taken a process from concept to execution<\/li>\n
- 3+ years of experience in a Program Management or Project Management role<\/li>\n
- Advanced experience with Excel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Preferred Qualifications
<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- MBA<\/li>\n
- Experience in engaging with and influencing leadership teams<\/li>\n
- Excellent communication (written, oral, presenting and negotiating) skills with attention to detail<\/li>\n
- Strong analytical skills, data driven with experience in establishing and tracking program metrics<\/li>\n
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and prioritize workload<\/li>\n
- Track record of working in an ambiguous environment and ability to define processes that can scale<\/li>\n
- Adept at working with different systems and making recommendations on improvements for both systems and processes<\/li>\n
- Experience with program management methodologies<\/li>\n
- Familiarity with SQL<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
