The Department of Electrical Engineering is an energetic and proud member of The College of Engineering. Our highly ranked Electrical Engineering Undergraduate Program provides well-developed background and strong engineering skills that allow its graduates to be greatly valued in both private and governmental organizations. A good number of these graduates maintain high and leading positions in the industry. The quality of our graduate programs and research activities are also visible with the multimillion-dollar grants from various research funding agencies, leading to a great number of highly cited publications and great technological innovations.
In response to the changing world and the new Industry 4.0 challenges, the Electrical Engineering Department, in collaboration with the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department, Computer Science and Engineering Department at Qatar University acknowledge that this industrial revolution has created an essential need to offer a distinct multi- and inter-disciplinary undergraduate program in the field of smart systems, automation, and instrumentation. The current thrusts for offering multi-disciplinary programs coupled with the QU\u00c3s unique leadership role in the educational sector were behind the offering of a new and distinct multi-disciplinary undergraduate program in Mechatronics Engineering. This Mechatronics Engineering Program has officially started in Fall 2021.

Duties & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The Department of Electrical Engineering at Qatar University invites applications for a Teaching Assistant position in Mechatronics Engineering. The successful candidate is expected to be actively involved in assisting faculty in developing, coordinating, teaching, and evaluating courses in the BSc Mechatronics Engineering Programs, and to be actively engaged in innovative trans-disciplinary teaching and service activities.

1. Teach UG courses independently, including: preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials and practical classes, and assessing student assignments and grade student performance (only if TA hold a master degree in the specialization)
2. Assists with instruction and supervision of students in field studies, field trips, internship, etc.
3. Compile and update manuals and guidelines related to practical sessions, lab sessions, internship, and field trips, etc. under the supervision of the instructor.
4. Prepare problem sheets and handouts needed for lab \/practical setting under supervision of the instructor.
5. Provides tutorial support for students related to theory and practice components of their program.
6.Manage, operate and run laboratory. This includes but not limited to assistance in setting up equipment, maintaining laboratory supplies and resources, and organizing materials for laboratory practice experience.
7. Assists with the development of simulated laboratory and classroom learning experience.
8. Searches for, retrieves, and summarizes up-to-date literature related to topics addressed in courses or in practice experiences.
9. Prepares lists of useful resources for student use on selectedt opics.
10. Assists with grading student examinations, tests, quizzes, project laboratory exercises and assignments under the direct supervision of course instructors.
11. Provides academic assistance to students during office hours.
12. Assists with senior students graduation projects and research related to the mission and service of the university.
