DUTIES MAY INCLUDE (but are not limited to)<\/p>\n
\u25cf Provide support for individual student(s), within a group context or individually, both inside and<\/p>\n
outside of the classroom to enable them to fully participate in a range of activities during the<\/p>\n
school day.<\/p>\n
\u25cf Be proactive in matters relating to health and safety.<\/p>\n
\u25cf Assist in the revision and\/or implementation of the Student Success Plan (SSP) for individual<\/p>\n
students and help monitor their progress.<\/p>\n
\u25cf Support the individual student in relation to their additional support needs e.g. academic,<\/p>\n
physical, emotional and behavioral difficulties and help develop their social and communication<\/p>\n
skills.<\/p>\n
\u25cf Assist cooperating teachers with maintaining student records.<\/p>\n
\u25cf Prepare necessary resources to assist the identified student to access or differentiate the<\/p>\n
curriculum in order to support learning.<\/p>\n
\u25cf Promote independence, at times working with other students to reduce the incidence of<\/p>\n
co-dependence.<\/p>\n
\u25cf Support the aims of the school, comply with the requirements of health and safety, code of<\/p>\n
conduct and other relevant legislation and school policies.<\/p>\n
\u25cf Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance.<\/p>\n
\u25cf Attend training sessions and professional meetings as required.<\/p>\n
\u25cf Attend parent meetings and\/or conferences to discuss student progress and plans.<\/p>\n
\u25cf Work with other professionals, eg. speech therapists, occupational therapists, etc., as needed.<\/p>\n
\u25cf Build a close working relationship with the cooperating teacher and communicate regularly and<\/p>\n
openly with student services.<\/p>\n
\u25cf Understand other duties from time to time as the Principal \/ Head of Student Services requires.<\/p>\n
Qualifications:<\/p>\n
1. Bachelor's Degree preferred;<\/p>\n
2. English language proficiency required;<\/p>\n
3. Engage and interact with diverse groups of people with confidence and be articulate;<\/p>\n
4. Strong collaborative, problem solving and communication skills;<\/p>\n
5. Strong initiative and motivated to build upon positive communication and school culture\/climate;<\/p>\n
6. Strong tech skills (apple platform) and familiarity with Zoom, Seesaw, Microsoft Teams, Class<\/p>\n
Dojo, and Google Suites is preferred.<\/p>\n
In order to fulfill these responsibilities, the Inclusion Assistant is prepared to perform additional duties<\/p>\n
required by Academic Administration\/Student Services Lead and also consistent with the purposes and<\/p>\n
responsibilities contained in this job description.<\/p>\n
