ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT<\/h2>\n

These jobs are found in Country Offices (COs), and Sub Offices. Job holders report to the Senior Programme Associate, and may drive light vehicles, trucks, vans or any other type of land transport. The job may involve basic administrative assistance in the office or stores.<\/p>\n

JOB PURPOSE<\/h2>\n

To provide efficient and safe transportation of authorized personnel and\/or commodities. <\/p>\n

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)<\/h2>\n

• Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, chauffeur protocol and courtesies, local roads\/waterways and conditions, and security issues.<\/li>\n
• Knowledge of the vehicle loading capacity and other parameters.<\/li>\n
• Knowledge of safety standards and safety equipment (e.g. fire extinguishers, buoyant wearable safety devices, etc.).<\/li>\n
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.<\/li>\n
• Basic skills to assist in case of emergency, knowledge of first aid basic methods.<\/li>\n
• Knowledge and ability to use radio, email, telephone and other applications.<\/li>\n
• Ability to assess vehicles for mechanical fitness and skills in minor vehicle repairs.<\/li>\n
• Ability to demonstrate a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy and tact.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/h2>\n

          Education: Completion of secondary school education. Formal drivers training with a valid driver\u2019s license\/certification to operate assigned vehicle following local rules and regulations. <\/p>\n

          Have official driving license type C (12,000 tons) Bus Driver or license for Public transportation.<\/p>\n

          Language: Good in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic.<\/p>\n

          DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE<\/h2>\n

          Experiance:<\/strong> Two or more years of work experience as a Driver, preferably in an international organization, embassy or UN system with a demonstrated safe driving record.<\/p>\n

          Experience in driving a variety of makes and models of vehicles, including vans, trucks and other kinds of motorised vehicles. Experience in defensive driving is desirable. <\/p>\n
