They aim to provide a clear sense of the nature and scope of jobs at this grade:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>May involve supervision and guidance of assistants or volunteers.<\/li>\n<li>Manages own workload without close supervision and works independently on making decisions and problem solving on routine issues\/problems.<\/li>\n<li>Provides creative\/innovative solutions to routine problems\/tasks and projects.<\/li>\n<li>Forward planning and management of small projects or elements of large projects.<\/li>\n<li>Providing advice on appropriate communications skills across the organisation.<\/li>\n<li>Impact of this role is significant within the departments and may have wider, organizational impact<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Regularly generate high quality communication materials based on Oxfam\u2019s Economic Justice, Climate Justice and Gender Justice programmes in Jordan and in support of advocacy and fundraising objectives relating to the Jordan Country Office, through proactive and reactive media activity.<\/li>\n<li>Generate regular, high quality media products and coverage in targeted markets (national, regional, international) in support of Oxfam\u2019s humanitarian and development programmes<\/li>\n<li>This includes developing digital material and social media material regularly, gathering and writing stories, producing outreach material and programme visibility material when needed.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the drafting and implementation of the department\u2019s influencing and communication strategies<\/li>\n<li>Build and maintain good relationships with Jordanian and international journalists visiting the country<\/li>\n<li>Build and maintain good relationships with Oxfam press officers who are working to deliver media coverage within their markets, advising and supporting on products and messages.<\/li>\n<li>Create compelling, creative, visually engaging human interest case studies that tell the story of those whose lives are affected by Oxfam\u2019s work and raise the voice of conflict-affected people, particularly women and girls &#8211; focusing on new and interesting angles.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all public messaging is updated regularly, including timely reactions, and that all media products are in line with the country\u2019s concerns and organisational priorities and go through the agreed sign off procedures, working closely with the Policy &amp; Media Manager and programme staff.<\/li>\n<li>Work with influencing colleagues and country team to identify and manage risk, develop reactive lines, and advise on how to use media strategically in a sensitive environment<\/li>\n<li>Provide support during the development of project proposals to ensure that policy and influencing activities, including media products, are adequately resourced.<\/li>\n<li>Design and conduct research activities in line with Oxfam&#039;s programmatic themes, focusing on gender equality, economic justice, and climate justice. Staying updated on policy developments, trends, and best practices in the relevant sectors to inform Oxfam&#039;s advocacy efforts.<\/li>\n<li>Support the drafting of concept notes, funding proposals, and donor reports related to policy and advocacy initiatives; collaborate with the fundraising team to identify potential donors and funding opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the protection of Oxfam\u2019s brand, and adherence to procedures, protocols and policies, including guidelines for interviewing vulnerable people and documenting permission for use of digital images.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with Oxfam&#039;s and donors&#039; visibility guidelines for all communication products<\/li>\n<li>Produce material in both Arabic and English, providing translation where\/when needed.<\/li>\n<li>Regularly visit project sites and partner organisations in the field to ensure a direct link between programme work and produced material.<\/li>\n<li>Provide basic graphic design work as needed by programmes and project teams.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain archives of communications and media products and clippings.<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility to work outside regular office hours is required.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out any other tasks as assigned by the Country Director\/line manager<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>PERSON SPECIFICATION   <\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>Most importantly, every individual at Oxfam GB needs to be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Live our values of INCLUSION, ACCOUNTABILITY and EMPOWERMENT (read more about these here).<\/li>\n<li>Ensure you commit to our ORGANISATIONAL ATTRIBUTES (including adhering to the Code of Conduct):<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Be committed to our feminist principles, and to applying them in your day-to-day behaviour and your work.
