Title: Siraj Officer
Reports to: Business Development Officer
Location: Amman, Jordan
Travel: Yes, 50% of time
The Near East Foundation (NEF) is seeking candidates for a Siraj Officer to be based in Amman, Jordan. NEF is a non-profit international development organization that has supported livelihoods recovery and community-based economic development in the Middle East, Africa, and Caucasus since 1915. NEF draws on local teams, experience, and partnerships in these regions to create community-led solutions to improve livelihoods and local governance among conflict and crisis-affected groups, while maintaining neutrality and ensuring inclusiveness in our approach. Working through a network of country offices and local partners, NEF has operations in ten countries: Armenia, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Mali, Morocco, Palestine, Sudan, South Sudan, and Syria. Our programs are organized around three pillars: Inclusive Economic Development, Climate-resilient Development, and Stabilization and Peacebuilding
Main duties include:<\/p>\n

\n
• Supervise and evaluate activities of program and the field work;<\/li>\n
• Supervise and manage a team of volunteers to ensure project activities are implemented as outlined in proposal;<\/li>\n
• Assign tasks to staff members and Volunteers and provide follow up and guidance;<\/li>\n
• Contribute to establishing and implementing operational work plans, setting clear targets and activity plans per activities\/trainings in direct coordination with head office and partners;<\/li>\n
• Maintain continuous line of communication with country-office on daily basis;<\/li>\n
• Ensure smooth exchange of information respectively between partners and volunteers\u2019 program, beneficiaries, and the community;<\/li>\n
• Provide technical support as needed;<\/li>\n
• Contribute in ongoing field assessments and data collection and entry as\/when required;<\/li>\n
• Ensure that data is accurately collected, entered, and shared on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis;<\/li>\n
• Provide information and advice for beneficiaries and walk ins in the Siraj center on existing services;<\/li>\n
• Collaborate with partners and other agencies when required;<\/li>\n
• Compile relevant information on available services in assigned location;<\/li>\n
• Plan, coordinate and facilitate distribution of materials when needed;<\/li>\n
• Maintain records, reports problems or concerns to country office and partners;<\/li>\n
• Support other project activities as needed. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Required Qualifications:<\/p>\n

  \n
  • University degree in Social Sciences or any other relevant degree. <\/li>\n
  • 1-3 years\u2019 experience in a similar role with an INGO<\/li>\n
  • Strong capacity in reporting<\/li>\n
  • Strong understanding of the project management cycle. <\/li>\n
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office. <\/li>\n
  • Good team spirit<\/li>\n
  • Familiar with the cultural, socio-economic and political environment in the relevant districts. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Position Criteria:<\/p>\n

    • Builds and maintains effective relationships, with team, colleagues, other members and external partners and supporters. <\/li>\n
    • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
