With strategic engagement, the incumbent will leverage a wide range of resource partners, including donors, national governments, parliamentarians, IFIs, private sector entities, academia\/think-tanks, and others.<\/p>\n<h2>RESPONSIBILITIES<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>As a member of WFP&#039;s senior leadership team work closely with the Executive Director, Deputy Executive Director and COO, Assistant Executive Directors, and other senior leaders to develop and implement policies, strategies, and programmes that advance WFP&#039;s mission and goals.<\/li>\n<li>Lead the cultivation and management of strategic partnerships with governments, UN agencies, private sector entities, foundations, and other key stakeholders in order to expand WFP&#039;s reach and impact.  Strengthen existing partnerships and establish new collaborations to enhance WFP&#039;s resource mobilization efforts.<\/li>\n<li>Engage and represent WFP in high level fora (e.g. United Nations, Governments, Executive Board, Humanitarian and Development Communities, etc.), asserting the organization\u2019s position and ensuring that WFP interests are at the forefront of discussions and considerations.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as the primary focal point for engagement with major donors, ensuring effective relationship management and stewardship.<\/li>\n<li>Provide strategic direction and guidance to WFP\u2019s Global Offices aligning their operations with the overall goals and objectives of the WFP.<\/li>\n<li>Set strategies for comprehensive partnerships and resource mobilization that aligns with WFP&#039;s strategic priorities and meets the organization&#039;s funding needs.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the development and use of impactful narratives that highlight WFP&#039;s value proposition and advocacy messages.<\/li>\n<li>Position WFP as a solution provider and preferred partner in fragile, climate-affected, and nexus contexts. <\/li>\n<li>Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion and fosters an environment of respect and collaboration. <\/li>\n<li>Stay up to date with trends and developments in the partnerships and resource mobilization landscape and identify new opportunities for WFP to expand its reach and impact.<\/li>\n<li>Other accountabilities, as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>CORE REQUIREMENTS<\/h2>\n<p>Experience:        <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum of 20 years of progressively responsible experience in partnerships and resource mobilization, with a focus on the humanitarian or development sectors desirable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Knowledge &amp; Skills:        <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing partnerships and resource mobilization strategies that have resulted in increased funding and expanded reach.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in leading communications and advocacy activities that have contributed to the positioning of an organization as a partner of choice.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including governments, UN agencies, private sector entities, NGOs, civil society organizations, and other partners.<\/li>\n<li>Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading and motivating teams of professionals.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent strategic thinking, negotiation, and networking skills, with the ability to engage and influence high-level stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>High level of emotional intelligence, with the ability to manage complex and challenging situations with empathy and tact.<\/li>\n<li>A firm commitment to the work, objectives, values, and guiding principles of WFP and the United Nations system.<\/li>\n<li>Impeccable personal and professional integrity.<\/li>\n<li>Able to provide leadership and responsibility for incorporating gender perspectives into substantive work and ensuring the equal participation of women and men in all areas of work.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in promoting and driving innovation and continuous improvement. <\/li>\n<li>Willingness to travel to different locations worldwide, often in challenging and remote environments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>LANGUAGES AND EDUCATION<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Fluency (level C) in English language.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of a second official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and\/or Portuguese (a WFP working language) highly desirable<\/li>\n<li>Advanced university degree in International Relations, Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>TERMS AND CONDITIONS<\/h2>\n<p>The selected candidate will be employed on a fixed-term contract at the Assistant Secretary General level, with a probationary period of one year.<\/p>\n<p>WFP offers an attractive compensation and benefits package, including basic salary, post adjustment, relocation entitlement, travel and shipment allowances, 30 days\u2019 annual leave, as well as expatriate entitlements such as home leave, an education grant for dependent children, and compulsory pension plan and medical insurance.
