The REACH Database Assistant is responsible for providing a range of database functions and supports to REACH -regional office projects, it also will be responsible for providing support for any IT technical issue, and the REACH Database Assistant will write the SoPs and Training materials for anything related to the Database Department.<\/p>\n

Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n

IT & Networking<\/p>\n

\u2022 Operate the Help Desk, providing technical support and troubleshooting for users\u2019 hardware, software, and printers\/copier.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ensuring the highest network day to day availability and good performance of the IT network and communications.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Maintain and administer Backed up copies of Servers and client PCs data to prevent accidental loss.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Understand and follow appropriate IT procedures, and support user awareness of IT systems and procedures.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Maintenance for Network Cables and Points, make sure that all the cables are in good shape and there are no losses.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Database and Servers<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ensure that all inputs and outputs for the Database team are filed on the REACH server, in line with the designated filing system.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ensure that backup system is running on all storage systems being used (local servers, mobile data collection servers, cloud storage).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Oversee all data entry supporting REACH assessment projects.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Collect and file all support documents needed for the database.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Follow the Department work plan.<\/p>\n

\u2022 REACH workload permitting, providing support to REACH\/ACTED MENA programs databases providing data outputs upon request.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Test all DB Products and do follow-ups.<\/p>\n

Capacity Building and Documentation<\/p>\n

\u2022 Writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)s.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Writing Training materials.<\/p>\n

• Bachelor\u2019s degree in computer Since or Computer Information System or a related field;<\/li>\n
• Excellent writing and communication skills;<\/li>\n
• Ability to work under pressure in a high-pace environment;<\/li>\n
• Good organisational and prioritisation skills;<\/li>\n
• Willingness to learn and capacity to innovate<\/li>\n
• Good command of at least one major database technology, (for example: Sql , Excel), in addition to good general knowledge of database management.<\/li>\n
• Strong problem-solving skills to fully research the problem and determine the best solution.<\/li>\n
• Experience with IT technical support.<\/li>\n
• Experience with Quality Assurance (Preferred).<\/li>\n
• Basic networking skills including TCP\/IP, and Network cabling and infrastructure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Essential Qualifications:<\/p>\n

  • Knowledge in at least one of the Object-oriented programming languages ( Java, JavaScript, Python, R, Objective-C, C++,\u2026)<\/li>\n
  • Detailed understanding of databases<\/li>\n
  • Very Good in Microsoft Excel<\/li>\n
  • Fluent English and Arabic (written and spoken);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
