Senior DevOps Engineer<\/strong> in our Amman, Jordan<\/strong> office.<\/p>\n

As Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the transition between project planning and software deployment. In this role, your duties will include developing software and configuring systems, and performing diagnostic tests throughout the stages of development. You will also be required to forecast project duration and cost.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n
• Consulting with management on the operational requirements of software solutions.<\/li>\n
• Contributing expertise on information system options, risk, and operational impact.<\/li>\n
• Mentoring junior software developers in gaining experience and assuming DevOps responsibilities.<\/li>\n
• Managing the installation and configuration of solutions.<\/li>\n
• Collaborating with developers on software requirements, as well as interpreting test stage data.<\/li>\n
• Developing interface simulators and designing automated module deployments.<\/li>\n
• Completing code and script updates, as well as resolving product implementation errors.<\/li>\n
• Overseeing routine maintenance procedures and performing diagnostic tests.<\/li>\n
• Documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics.<\/li>\n
• Conforming to best practices in network administration and cybersecurity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Skills & Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n

  \n
  • Working knowledge of enterprise data center technologies including storage platforms, network switching, and security infrastructure within a virtualized data center<\/li>\n
  • Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes<\/li>\n
  • Strong understanding of application development methodologies<\/li>\n
  • Adept at evaluating problems accurately and displaying sound judgment<\/li>\n
  • Familiarity with a broad portfolio of AWS\/Azure infrastructure tools (EBS, S3, EC2, Elastic IP, Route 53, VPC) and<\/li>\n
  • Scripting (shell, python, ruby) skills for monitoring and automation<\/li>\n
  • Continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, Hudson, etc.<\/li>\n
  • Ability to clearly articulate design and implementation choices<\/li>\n
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools<\/li>\n
  • Comfort with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment<\/li>\n
  • Possessing a strong grasp of automation tools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Experience Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
    • 5 + years of experience spanning at least two IT disciplines, including technical architecture, application, development, or operations<\/li>\n
    • Bachelor\u2019s degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience<\/li>\n
    • SP or Financial services technology background is a plus<\/li>\n
    • Experience with cloud infrastructure management and automation technologies (Chef, Puppet)<\/li>\n
    • Experience with SSIS, SSAS.<\/li>\n
    • Experience working in a research or academic environment preferred<\/li>\n
    • Experience in optimizing applications, both stand-alone and in distributed systems to maximize performance<\/li>\n
    • Experience maintaining an infrastructure and ensuring stability while adding new features<\/li>\n
    • Experience with JIRA or other issue tracking software.<\/li>\n
    • Experience with Git.<\/li>\n
    • Knowledge using Python, C# or other languages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
