The Mercy Corps Finance Department ensures compliance with donor<br \/>regulations as well as Mercy Corps\u2019 internal policies and procedures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Position (General Position Summary)<\/strong><br \/>Working in the Finance Department under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Senior Finance<br \/>Officer will ensure the accuracy and completeness of Mercy Corps accounting records and will have<br \/>primary responsibility for managing the monthly accounting cycle.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential Responsibilities:<\/strong><br \/>\u2022 Oversee the daily accounting and finance functions including the timely recording of transactions, cash<br \/>management, banking, payroll, amortization, receivables, and payables.<br \/>\u2022 Ensure the accuracy and authenticity of all accounting and financial records and transactions.<br \/>\u2022 Prepare the salary Payroll and Ensure the payroll file is uploaded accurately and timely manner.<br \/>\u2022 Review payments and ensure that all transactions are fully and properly documented.<br \/>\u2022 Prepare an amortization sheet for prepaid accounts and reconciliation monthly.<br \/>\u2022 Maintaining AR\/AP analysis with proper follow-up and action on monthly basis avoiding long<br \/>outstanding balances.<br \/>\u2022 Support the GL Review Process and follow up in case of the required adjustment.<br \/>\u2022 Prepare and review bank reconciliation.<br \/>\u2022 Provide active support during the month-end accounting close process such as monthly amortization,<br \/>and account reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the ledgers, and journal batches<br \/>before posting.<br \/>\u2022 Provide technical support, including training and mentoring, on financial accounting and financial<br \/>management systems and procedures.<br \/>\u2022 Support in developing and keeping Finance related SOPs and policies and roll out in the country.<br \/>\u2022 Audit preparation and focal point as assigned by the line manager.<br \/>\u2022 Ensures that supporting documents are achieved.<br \/>\u2022 Perform other duties as assigned by the line Manager.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Accountability<\/strong><br \/>Reports Directly To: Accounting Manager<br \/>Works Directly With: Finance, Program, Compliance, and Operation Staff.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Accountability to Participants and Stakeholders<\/strong><br \/>Mercy Corps team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to our<br \/>program participants, community partners, other stakeholders, and to international standards guiding<br \/>international relief and development work.
