Deloitte is implementing USAID\u2019s Energy Sector Support Activity (ESSA), an innovative and timely approach to improving sector sustainability and self-reliance through market-focused change across Jordan\u2019s energy landscape. In keeping with ESSA\u2019s comprehensive and market-orientated mandate, and in support of strategic goals established by the Government of Jordan, Deloitte will leverage the power of the private sector to catalyze the technical, operational, and managerial changes needed to transition Jordan\u2019s energy sector towards a more-resilient future. By working with public and private stakeholders to identify key reforms and helping Government of Jordan counterparts create the associated tools and processes needed to implement them, Deloitte will seek to strengthen and improve the sustainability of Jordan\u2019s energy sector.<\/p>\n

Role and Responsibilities<\/p>\n

The Communications Specialist will work under the direction of the Communications Manager and will use their native English written skills to review and refine written reports and other collateral. Specifically, the Specialist will:<\/p>\n

• Lead the review, editing, and branding of all major contractual and technical deliverables for readability, clarity, spelling, grammar, accuracy, punctuation, consistency, and logic; <\/li>\n
• Help enforce adherence to the Branding & Marking Plan and general compliance with USAID expressed standards and branding;<\/li>\n
• Support the project's social media sites and website (as permitted by the client and contract, and according to regulations);<\/li>\n
• Support ad-hoc requests from USAID for communication materials and talking points;<\/li>\n
• Other duties as assigned. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  • Native English speaker<\/li>\n
  • Bachelor\u2019s degree in Communications or relevant field<\/li>\n
  • Minimum of 1 year of Communications experience <\/li>\n
  • Excellent reading and writing skills in English, Arabic reading and writing skills is a plus <\/li>\n
  • Strong understanding and\/or experience working with international aid organizations and partner government agencies in a development context; <\/li>\n
  • Demonstrated experience in communicating prescribed messages and other stories using plain language to achieve maximum impact; <\/li>\n
  • High level interpersonal, communication and cross-cultural skills, including the ability to convey concepts clearly and to understand and meet the needs of a range of stakeholders;<\/li>\n
  • Experience working in similar context in North Africa\/Middle East region<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
