As a leading humanitarian organization, we support displaced persons by implementing programs across the Shelter, Education, Food Security, Information Counseling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sectors with strong protection and resilience focus integrated into our programs. In the Middle East, NRC has over 3000 staff dedicated to assisting people affected by the conflict in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Palestine. Its humanitarian interventions are based upon its programming expertise in the Core Competencies of Shelter, Education, Water and Sanitation Hygiene, Food Security, along with Information Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) to forcibly displaced people. The Syrian Crisis is well into its eight-year, but the level and intensity of conflict in the country remain high. Humanitarian and protection need continue to grow inside of Syria as a result of the ongoing conflict and consequent complex emergency situation in which displacement is both massive and widespread.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the Education Project Officer position is to implement the day-to-day activities of the Education project and support the team in coordinating all related activities in Syria. The position ensures effective planning of activities, monitors their implementation, coordinates reporting, provides advice and support to teams in Syria, and makes sure that resources are used effectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Generic responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>1. Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines.<br \/>2. Implement delegated CC project portfolio according to plan of action.<br \/>3. Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.<br \/>4. Ensure proper filing of documents.<br \/>5. Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need and explore and asses new and better ways to assist.<br \/>6. Promote and share ideas for technical improvement.<br \/>7. Take the lead in preparing and following up on education projects procurement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Specific responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\u2022 Contributes to the identification of potential projects in coordination with the project\u2019s management and field teams in Syria.<br \/>\u2022 Administers the project\u2019s activities including raising purchase requisitions, preparation of payment vouchers, and maintaining the project\u2019s archive.<br \/>\u2022 Ensures that all documents are scanned and stored both electronically, and ensures proper filing of project\u2019s documents that are submitted by the field teams.<br \/>\u2022 Supports in assessments coordination by compiling progress tracking, reviewing assessment reports, and assisting in the preparation of related documents and forms.<br \/>\u2022 Assists in reviewing procurement contracts and related documents, analyse contents and findings, and provides recommendations on variations or changes.<br \/>\u2022 Tracks the results of the projects implementation and reports findings and\/or breaches to the line<br \/>manager.<br \/>\u2022 Assists in the coordination of Education activities according to strategy, proposals, budgets, and plans.<br \/>\u2022 Ensures that authorities, communities, and community leaders are involved and informed about the activities of the projects, in coordination with the field teams.<br \/>\u2022 Breaks down the annual operational plans into weekly, monthly, and quarterly implementation plans and ensures that all plans are documented, regularly updated, and properly tracked.<br \/>\u2022 Coordinates remotely with the relevant partners in Turkey and Syria for the projects activities when needed.<br \/>\u2022 Carries out any other related activities relevant to the role, as requested by the line manager.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.
