Setting and Reporting<\/p>\n<p>\n                    The Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen (OSESGY)\u2019s internship is for two months with an opportunity for extension, pending the needs of the mission. <br \/>The internship is UNPAID and full-time.<br \/>Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the mission to which they are assigned. Flexible working arrangements can be agreed with the receiving office. The intern is required to work the equivalent of a minimum of at least two months on a full-time basis in order to receive recognition of service as an intern. An internship under such arrangements must be completed within a six-month period.<br \/>Applicants for this position are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as hiring may begin before the end of the vacancy posting period. Incomplete applications will not be considered.\n                <\/p>\n<p>                Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>\n                    Working on the supervision of the SE\u2019s Senior Economic Advisor, the candidate\u2019s responsibilities will depend on the candidate\u2019s background and interest. Duties may include but are not limited to: <br \/>1. Provide assistance for quantitative and qualitative background research for documents, reports, working and technical papers;<br \/>2. Develop and produce an independent piece of research work on a topic of relevance to ECON\u2019s programmatic priorities for the year;<br \/>3. Undertake and support research and documentation for the production of OSESGY-wide knowledge products;<br \/>4. Participate in the organization and of seminars, workshops and documentation of Expert Consultations and other events of the Unit;<br \/>5. Participate in coordination and HDP-nexus meetings with other UN agencies and diplomatic counterparts, representing the office when necessary;<br \/>6. To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: <br \/>a) be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or<br \/>b) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor\u2019s level or equivalent); or <br \/>c) have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation.<br \/>2. Be computer literate in standard software applications;<br \/>3. Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and<br \/>4. Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.\n                <\/p>\n<p>                Work Experience<\/p>\n<p>\n                    No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.
