Qualifications and specialist knowledge<\/strong><\/p>\n

• Bachelor\u2019s degree (Master\u2019s degree is a plus) social science, political science, gender and women studies, development studies or other relevant field. Training in Gender Mainstreaming, Project Management, M&E, Moderation, Advocacy, and Media Campaigns is a plus.Minimum 5 years\u2019 experience in development projects within governmental or non-governmental organisations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
  \n
  • 4 years of experience in gender mainstreaming and women empowerment preferably with a focus on women\u2019s political or economic participation<\/li>\n
  • experience in good governance and especially local governance is an asset<\/li>\n
  • experience working with governmental and\/or civil society actors (NGOs, CBOs etc.)<\/li>\n
  • experience with M&E and report writing (e.g. project progress reports)<\/li>\n
  • experience with event management, organizing workshops and conferences is needed<\/li>\n
  • experience in awareness raising methods, especially with social media is an asset<\/li>\n
  • Prior experience working with or in cooperation with GIZ an advantage<\/li>\n
  • fluent in English and Arabic. German and\/or French language skills an advantage<\/li>\n
  • good working knowledge of ITC technologies and computer applications, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MSTeams)<\/li>\n
  • very good people skills and strong team player<\/li>\n
  • excellent networking skills<\/li>\n
  • very good personal work organization<\/li>\n
  • able to travel if required within Jordan or to other countries on short notice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Core tasks<\/strong><\/p>\n

    In your role you are responsible for the technical, substantive and organisational implementation of a project\u2019s measures and activities. In consultation with your line manager, you also assume tasks related to planning, steering and monitoring the project, including project administration tasks in some cases. You are also responsible for providing specialist support to colleagues in bands 2 and 3, and ensure the quality of the commission\u2019s outcomes.<\/p>\n

    In addition you contribute to the conceptual design of the project, in particular its modification or realignment.<\/p>\n

    You make technical and substantive contributions to overarching issues in cooperation with commissioning parties\/clients, partners and other actors and thereby support the achievement of the agreed objectives of the respective project and provide impetus for further strategy development.<\/p>\n

    In coordination with the country director and your line manager, you also use your contacts for the acquisition of contracts on behalf of the company.<\/p>\n

    In consultation with your team colleagues and line manager, you also coordinate all issues within your area of work and ensure that they are dealt with promptly and competently. You resolve problems that arise in your area of responsibility on the basis of existing rules and draw attention to more complex challenges in your team.<\/p>\n

    In consultation with your line manager, under your role you may assume management responsibility for staff members in band 1, with due regard for P+R and GIZ\u2019s applicable HR policies, instruments and procedures. <\/p>\n

    You are involved in ongoing process development within your remit, are responsible for knowledge management and prepare and share documentation. If required, you also support other experts in familiarising themselves with and performing their tasks.<\/p>\n

    You perform the tasks assigned to you by your line manager, where required.<\/p>\n

    Main activities<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The advisor in the project \u201cPromoting Gender-Responsive and Inclusive Politics and Economy in the MENA Region\u201d in Jordan<\/p>\n

    • Project implementation at all levels<\/li>\n
    • Coordinating with partner organizations and supporting ensuring the quality of partners\u2019 products<\/li>\n
    • Providing technical advice on gender equality and women\u2019s political and economic participation<\/li>\n
    • Preparing relevant material (articles, presentations etc.) for internal and external use<\/li>\n
    • Support monitoring the project progress according to GIZ rules & regulations<\/li>\n
    • Coordinating local short-term experts and consultants<\/li>\n
    • Supporting international expert and consultant missions to Jordan with knowledge input, logistical assistance and translation services<\/li>\n
    • Support internal and external communication of the project in Jordan, responsible for all communications in Arabic<\/li>\n
    • Providing professional advice and input and cooperating with a broad range of target groups<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
