ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:<\/p>\n

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. WFP Technology Division (TEC, formerly known as IT) is the digital business engine of the World Food Programme, providing the business with multi-pronged and resilient technical capabilities able to respond with the agility required in humanitarian operations, be they manmade or in a natural disaster setting.<\/p>\n

The Automation Product Manager has expertise in agile delivery and product management. They pursue success for automation services, removing impediments and creating high-performance teams to achieve business results. They are responsible for end-to-end delivery, ensuring the team is delivering demonstrable value on every iteration.<\/p>\n

Reporting to the Digital Product Management Lead, they work with the business and TEC to identify potential new automation solutions based on industry developments and review existing solutions to ensure continuous improvement. <\/p>\n

ACCOUNTABILITIES\/RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n

\n
• Proactively engage and interact with the Head of Automation and the cross functional Automation Working Group to propose process optimizations through automation tools;<\/li>\n
• Oversight of delivery of prioritised automation requests;<\/li>\n
• Manage business expectations in delivery and oversee success of process automation, seeking ongoing opportunities to support or increase business value;<\/li>\n
• Coordinate management of progress, assessing impact of challenges or delays, identifying solutions and escalating issues to the attention of the Head of Automation and Automation Working Group where necessary;<\/li>\n
• Coordinate initial analysis of requests to identify and propose appropriate tool selection;<\/li>\n
• Oversee and coordinate the solution delivery of the automation tools within TEC;<\/li>\n
• Create and maintain the Improvement Canvas outlining the vision of the product;<\/li>\n
• Create and maintain the Product Roadmap outlining the evolution of the product;<\/li>\n
• Present the Product Roadmap for endorsement to the TEC Demand Assessment Board (DAB), when updated;<\/li>\n
• Manage the product budget, and prepare cost estimates based on the IT Solution Architect\u2019s high- level effort estimates;<\/li>\n
• Keep track of the consumption of purchased time-and-materials quotas;<\/li>\n
• Provide guidance to vendors concerning the submission of consumption reports and invoices;<\/li>\n
• Approve consumption reports for the insertion of the corresponding Service Entry Sheets;<\/li>\n
• In collaboration with the TEC\u2019s Head of Sourcing, create and renew Purchase Orders;<\/li>\n
• Report periodically on progress to the portfolio board, informing them of any issues\/risks requiring attention. Identify and escalate issues that could affect the product outcomes, timeline or budget.<\/li>\n
• Any other duties as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  • A well-defined service vision and up-to-date product roadmaps fully aligned with business roadmaps and the needs of end-users.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • Digital services operating within the defined target KPI values.<\/li>\n
    • A high level of satisfaction of the Stakeholders, IT Solution Architects, and Development Teams in relation to soft-skills such as effective communication, conflict management, strategic contributions to product\u2019s success, leadership skills, etc.<\/li>\n
    • Build strong partnerships to mobilize resources and implement process automation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: <\/p>\n

      Education:<\/p>\n

      \n
      • University degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or related fields.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Experience:<\/p>\n

        \n
        • Minimum five years post graduate experience with product\/project management, and a proven track record of planning, leading and executing related projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Technical Skills & Knowledge:<\/p>\n

          \n
          • In-depth knowledge and experience with Agile and Scrum. <\/li>\n
          • Knowledge of Product and Project Management methodologies and tools. <\/li>\n
          • Experience gathering business and user requirements. <\/li>\n
          • Ability to influence cross-functionally to manage projects within a matrix environment.<\/li>\n
          • Ability to manage budget, resources and risks. <\/li>\n
          • Ability to manage Stakeholders also at senior levels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Language:<\/p>\n

            \n
            • Fluency in oral and written English with an intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese (one of WFP\u2019s working languages) is desirable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
