Manager will hold a full and relevant qualification in Early Years (3 months to 4 years), understand and ensure the requirements of the EYFS are met and have experience working in a busy nursery setting in a management position.<\/p>\n
Essential Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n 1-Childcare and Education<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022Promote high standards of quality within the nursery in respect of the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.<\/p>\n \u2022Ensure that all children attending the nursery receive rich and stimulating experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development.<\/p>\n \u2022Ensure that practice and provision in the nursery meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.<\/p>\n \u2022Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand and, when necessary, follow Safeguarding Procedures.<\/p>\n \u2022Promote and facilitate partnerships with parents\/carers and other family members.<\/p>\n \u2022Establish, develop and maintain highly professional working relationships with relevant Local Authority Departments, regulatory bodies and other agencies.<\/p>\n \u2022Create and maintain a culture of self evaluation and reflective practice throughout the nursery.<\/p>\n 2-Health and Safety<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022Manage the day-to-day operation in order to ensure the health and safety of the children, their parents and carers, the team and any visitors to the nursery.<\/p>\n \u2022Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.<\/p>\n \u2022Be fully aware of all emergency and security procedures.<\/p>\n \u2022Be responsible for ensuring the nursery remains compliant in respect of suitably trained staff with relevant first aid qualifications.<\/p>\n \u2022Be responsible for ensuring that all staff receive Health and Safety training.<\/p>\n 3-Finance<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022Manage staff costs with regard to budget projections.<\/p>\n \u2022Maintain accurate records and accounts for the nursery and produce management information as required.<\/p>\n \u2022Control costs in line with agreed budgets.<\/p>\n \u2022Understand and utilize management systems and information to maximize commercial benefits.<\/p>\n 4-Staff<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022Recruit, induct, support, train and appraise all staff to ensure delivery of high quality childcare practice.<\/p>\n \u2022Develop a well-qualified and experienced team able to meet and exceed all relevant standards.<\/p>\n \u2022Identify training needs; develop training plans and evaluate training undertaken by staff.<\/p>\n \u2022Develop open and positive working relationships with staff.<\/p>\n 5-Marketing & Customer Care<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022Proactively represent the Nursery and advance its interests in the local community.<\/p>\n \u2022Promote the nursery to current parents and potential customers.<\/p>\n \u2022Ensure that all staff develop and maintain friendly and professional relationships with parents and carers.<\/p>\n \u2022Be responsible for ensuring that all complaints and concerns are actively resolved in a timely manner and that these are reported to the Nursery owner.<\/p>\n 6-General<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022Responsible for all administrative duties associated with the nursery, such as maintaining children\u2019s records, ordering equipment, maintaining inventories and keeping personnel records.<\/p>\n \u2022Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by Nursery Owner.<\/p>\n The duties and responsibilities in this job description are not exhaustive or restrictive, changes and other duties relevant to this post may be added.
