This job is found in WFP Ethiopia, Gode Sub Office and job holders report to a more Programme Policy Officer.
Job holders are likely to be working under the close support and guidance of a more experienced professional staff member receiving guidance and regular feedback on work performed. They are typically involved in programme or policy activities or similar nature and analytical work of limited complexity. <\/p>\n

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)<\/h2>\n

Under the overall guidance of the Head of Gode Sub-office as well as CCARB (technical) focal points and project managers in the Somali Area Office and Country Office, and under the direct supervision of the Programme Policy Officer (CCARB lead) in Gode office, the job holder will be responsible for the following<\/p>\n

1. Contribute towards the implementation of a variety of projects, plans, and processes, related to climate change adaptation and resilience building, ensuring alignment with wider programme policies and guidance.<\/li>\n
2. The candidate will specifically focus on activities related to natural resource management, public works, disaster risk management, livelihood building (agriculture and pastoralism), and market strengthening activities.<\/li>\n
3. Coordinate with technical focal points and project coordinators in WFP\u2019s Somali Region area office and Country Office on implementation of projects under the CSP\u2019s CCARB Activity.<\/li>\n
4. Support government staffs on technical subjects during planning, trainings, workshops and joint monitoring and reporting<\/li>\n
5. Follow data gathering and monitoring systems ensuring that rigorous quality standards are maintained, including providing support to CPs on data collection.<\/li>\n
6. Ensure proper documentation and compliance to WFP standards.<\/li>\n
7. Any additional duties as requested.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

   STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/h2>\n

   Education: Secondary education or university degree in Environmental sciences, Natural Resource Management, Agriculture, Climate Change Adaptation, Social sciences, Engineering, or other related subjects<\/p>\n

   Experience: At least Four years with university degree or 6 years of working experience with secondary education and demonstrated technical expertise in the areas of climate change and capacity building, resilience strengthening, livelihood building, natural resource management, asset creation, and public works. Experience in WFP-related programs and PSNP is considered an asset.
   Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station and Somali Language is mandatory. <\/p>\n
