The Secretariat is based in the Research, Assessment and Monitoring (RAM) Division, located at WFP Headquarters in Rome, Italy. It is a neutral platform for exchanging expertise, knowledge and best practices, and developing harmonised methods, measurements and analysis.<\/p>\n<p>The FSIN main activities consist of:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>production of global and regional analytical products, including the annual Global Report on Food Crises (GRFC) and its by-products and updates with 17 partner organisations;<\/li>\n<li>supporting activities related to data and information gaps; and<\/li>\n<li>facilitating support to regional or national food security information systems.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The FSIN Secretariat uses a consultative and consensus-based approach to facilitate the production of analytical food security publications and to support the strengthening of country and regional capacities for data collection, analysis, and decision-making. This requires sustained identification, compilation, analysis and communication of data.<\/p>\n<p>The FSIN Secretariat is seeking a data analyst to identify, manage and support the analysis of food security and nutrition information to support development of FSIN products.<\/p>\n<h4>ACCOUNTABILITIES\/RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/h4>\n<p>In collaboration with the FSIN Secretariat team, the incumbent will:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Conduct secondary data review and analysis for FSIN publications;<\/li>\n<li>Maintain databases of information on acute food insecurity and thematics relevant to FSIN operations and ensure information is up to date, accessible and communicated;<\/li>\n<li>Support the organization and development of materials for Technical Working Groups, Technical Consultations and other FSIN processes;<\/li>\n<li>Any other tasks as requested.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:<\/h4>\n<p>Main deliverables will include:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Data on acute food insecurity and thematics required for FSIN processes is collated, organised and accessible.<\/li>\n<li>Data bases necessary to support FSIN operations (in particular the GRFC) are populated, maintained, updated and shared with relevant working groups.<\/li>\n<li>Data is interpreted and the analysis disseminated.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:<\/h4>\n<p>Education:<\/p>\n<p>Advanced University degree in Economics, Food Security, Statistics, Data Science, Social Science, Public Health\/Nutrition, Geography or other related field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and\/or training\/courses.<\/p>\n<p>Experience:<\/p>\n<p>Previous experience (ideally in an international context) in food security analysis, or a closely related area. Experience researching and collating data from multiple sources and diverse stakeholders an asset.
