JOB PURPOSE<\/h2>\n

The incumbent will take pictures and videos of the relief interventions carried out by the UN World Food Program in the affected areas of Nepal. These materials will be edited and distributed together with the press release on WFP\u2019s intervention, as well as through the WFP Global website and social media channels. They will contribute to enhancing WFP\u2019s visibility and reputation in the field and globally to support fundraising activities as well WFP\u2019s work and activities in general. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)<\/h2>\n

Under the overall guidance of the Head of Communications Unit, the incumbent shall carry out the following tasks: <\/p>\n

• Photos and videos of key interventions in the format and style prescribed by WFP Headquarters. <\/li>\n
• Record video using latest professional equipment and post-produce videos on specific and general WFP Nepal\u2019s interventions. <\/li>\n
• All photos\/videos should be of high quality and resolution so that they can be used for various purposes.<\/li>\n
• Shoot images\/videos according to the needs of WFP Nepal office throughout the contract period.<\/li>\n
• All photos must be provided with background information in electronic format, specifically; location, situation details, WFP program in that area, name, age, occupation of the person photographed and a quote of a person about the situation and WFP\u2019s assistance.<\/li>\n
• Submit the best versions of the photos and footage, with edits if required.<\/li>\n
• Get consent for the use of photos\/footages from relevant persons\/authorities<\/li>\n
• WFP staff must be allowed to actively take part in the editing of the photo\/video, at WFP\u2019s office or the contractor\u2019s studio.<\/li>\n
• Continuously improvise editing techniques and best practices to maximize efficiency.<\/li>\n
• WFP\u2019s copyrighted photos\/video cannot under any circumstance be used for any other purpose without prior permission. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/h2>\n

  Education: Advanced University degree in communications, journalism, multimedia, public information, or first University degree with additional years of related work experience and\/or trainings\/courses.<\/p>\n

  Language: Fluency in both written and spoken English language.<\/p>\n

  DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE<\/h2>\n

  • Minimum one or more years of relevant professional experience in communications, journalism, interactive digital media, etc. <\/li>\n
  • Experience in the deep field as well as working in emergency or humanitarian context will be considered an asset. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
