Job Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n

The MYP IS teacher is responsible for implementing and teaching the Middle school\u2019s students according to the International Baccalaureate curriculum, being the learner, motivator and communicator who provides a professional expertise, and high quality teaching and learning. <\/p>\n

The teacher provides, leads and facilitates diverse and effective learning experiences using a range of methods in a supportive and positive climate across the school. Delivering a coherent, balanced, integrated, inquiry-based program and preparing students for international programs in a stimulating, challenging and well-organized learning environment, collaborating with other teachers to contribute students\u2019 success.<\/p>\n

Roles & Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Planning, initiating, supporting and guiding the units which involve knowledge and understanding of the IB resources. <\/li>\n
2. Creating appropriate learning experience (field work, learning engagements)<\/li>\n
3. Creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students.<\/li>\n
4. Motivating students to perform at their best through differentiated instructions and using varieties of styles.<\/li>\n
5. Contributing to the enrichment of learning engagements.<\/li>\n
6. Monitoring students\u2019 performance to enhance their understanding and master skills.<\/li>\n
7. Monitoring students\u2019 progress through effective assessment<\/li>\n
8. Communicating regularly and constructively with students <\/li>\n
9. Using teaching methods engaging students, stimulating intellectual curiosity including the use of effective questioning, presentation and resources.<\/li>\n
10. Setting high expectations for student\u2019s behavior, establishing and maintaining a good standard of behavior management through well focused teaching and through positive and productive relationships.<\/li>\n
11. Collaborating with other teachers to contribute students\u2019 success.<\/li>\n
12. Teaching related classes, per the full time teaching load specified by the MOE instructions <\/li>\n
13. Having the ability and willingness for online and\/or in a hybrid context teaching and learning, as necessary <\/li>\n
14. Working independently and collaboratively to design and refine curriculum<\/li>\n
15. Designing, preparing and delivering a high quality curriculum for grades within the IB framework to suit the individual needs of all students<\/li>\n
16. Nurturing meaningful relationships with students and providing the individual attention they need<\/li>\n
17. Maintaining records of students' work and progress through Learning <\/li>\n
18. Working as a member of a team, positively contributing to effective working relations within the school<\/li>\n
19. Communicating, where necessary with parents and external bodies, following school policies<\/li>\n
20. Attending school events, workshops, student-Led conferences<\/li>\n
21. Attending IB authorized training and staying current with all relevant changes to the IB guide<\/li>\n
22. Taking on the responsibilities of a Year Coordinator or a Homeroom teacher upon request ( if applicable)<\/li>\n
23. Attending departments regular meetings <\/li>\n
24. Carrying out any other duties or responsibilities requested by the principal<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Job requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. Bachelor and\/or Master degree in in history, geography, social sciences is preferable<\/li>\n
    2. IB experience and training is a plus<\/li>\n
    3. Diverse teaching strategies to suit both online and face-to-face environment,<\/li>\n
    4. Personal project supervision.<\/li>\n
    5. Participating in Interdisciplinary units.<\/li>\n
    6. To be flexible and open to teaching any grade level (MYP1-MYP5) depending on the IS department needs.<\/li>\n
    7. To implement co-teaching models if needed.<\/li>\n
    8. Ability to innovate and design dynamic units for teaching IS.<\/li>\n
    9. Designing authentic and skill and inquiry-based formative and summative assessments.<\/li>\n
    10. Computer skills at a level that permits creative use of technology in the classroom<\/li>\n
    11. Good communication & Presentation skills and ability to speak in public in confidence.<\/li>\n
    12. Demonstrate professionalism, commitment, integrity, strength of character and perseverance<\/li>\n
    13. Committed to ensuring high standards of teaching and learning<\/li>\n
    14. Able to prepare reports, worksheets and deliver oral presentations<\/li>\n
    15. Excellent planning, coordinating, organizing and analyzing abilities are essential<\/li>\n
    16. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with teachers at all levels in a multicultural environment<\/li>\n
    17. Strong communication skills in both Arabic and English.<\/li>\n
    18. Demonstrates ongoing learning by continuously partaking in professional development opportunities.<\/li>\n
