BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT<\/p>\n

The WFP Egypt South-South Cooperation Platform and Coordination Mechanism for Africa in Egypt (WFP-SSCE) has been established to facilitate the sharing of African country experiences, knowledge, skills, information and innovative practices related to ending hunger and improving food security and nutrition. In addition, the WFP-SSCE will:<\/p>\n

\n
• Identify lessons and best practices of African countries in food security and nutrition strategies.<\/li>\n
• Establish linkages with African Union affiliated knowledge and information sharing platforms on SDG 2 and the African Union\u2019s Malabo Declaration Commitments in association with the UN Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC).<\/li>\n
• Support and partner with African regional and sub-regional organizations to enhance cooperation on ending hunger and improving food security and nutrition among developing countries.<\/li>\n
• Under the supervision of the Senior Advisor, South – South Cooperation Platform & Coordination Mechanism for Africa in Egypt (WFP-SSCE), the partnerships officer will ensure support to effectively position WFP with public, private and external partners to attract policy support, resources, technical assistance and innovative solutions to advance the work of WFP, while supporting member states in the achievement of the SDGs and Zero Hunger and emphasizing WFP\u2019s contributions in this regard.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  ACCOUNTABILITIES\/RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n

  \n
  • Proactively contribute to a partnerships portfolio, including partner profiling and outreach activities, with the aim to maximize resources and leverage policy and technical support for WFP\u2019s work; Support partner visibility and ensure partner conditions are met.<\/li>\n
  • Solicit inputs, including operational updates, from other WFP entities to inform partner audiences on WFP\u2019s programmatic offering; Draft quality briefs and proactively highlight strategic issues to senior staff to inform best course of action and nurture partnership growth.<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to partnerships strategies, including the development of Partnership Action Plans; Draw up quality partner proposals and reports by engaging with other WFP entities and external stakeholders.<\/li>\n
  • Support senior managers in the preparation of strategic agreements, joint strategies and MOUs in order to promote the SDGs and Zero Hunger on the national, regional and global agenda and to reach advantageous outcomes for WFP<\/li>\n

  • Implement the work plan for an assigned area to enable WFP to identify, develop and strengthen quality partnerships in support of WFP-SSCE strategic objectives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
