Enterprise Monitoring (EM) is a team within the Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure and Production department, which is responsible for the continuous enhancing monitoring tools that CB uses. This includes Splunk, APM (AppDynamics) and Nagios. The main goal is to reduce the incidents where application errors are the main root cause, hence developing Applications Monitoring tool will be the main activity. EM Engineer will operate on the team responsible for delivery and L2\/L3 Support of Application Performance Management and other different Enterprise Monitoring Tools (Nagios, Splunk \/ Splunk ITSI, Grafana, BMC Truesight, Humio or any other analytics-driven performance management solutions). To promote usage of monitoring tools during the development lifecycle phase by different IT teams, optimize use of APM across platforms and service delivery models. Focus on the monitoring toolsets for proactive monitoring of multi-tier applications including EUM (end-user experience).<\/p>\n

• 3+ years\u2019 experience providing direct support to IT business application and related infrastructure teams in a complex multi-platform operating environment preferred<\/li>\n
• Strong AppDynamics product knowledge, internals, and product REST API<\/li>\n
• Engineer solutions and establish standards for AppDynamics Controller and agent deployments, including optimizations and tunings per requirements from business and IT teams.<\/li>\n
• Adopt AppDynamics for usage in On-premises models, Setup Monitoring for all JAVA and .NET base applications.<\/li>\n
• Devise an authentication and authorization model for AppDynamics within standard Client security framework. Develop customizations as needed.<\/li>\n
• Architect a highly-available and scalable Controller infrastructure with appropriate monitoring and alerting mechanisms. <\/li>\n
• Seek opportunities for automated deployments so as to reduce operational tasks.<\/li>\n
• Seek opportunities for integration of AppDynamics with other monitoring tools in the Client portfolio.<\/li>\n
• Test and implement AppDynamics Monitoring Extensions appropriate for Client\u2019s technology stack (e.g. Webservers; Messaging Tiers). <\/li>\n
• Test and implement AppDynamics Database Agent and AppDynamics End User Experience Monitoring<\/li>\n
• \u2022Liaise with development teams through full application lifecycle to develop the right monitoring solution before go live. <\/li>\n
• Event Management Integration Nagios, Splunk, BMC ITSM according to predefined incident priority matrix, analyze alerts , logs and Graphs to support incident management teams<\/li>\n
• Responsible for the installation, deployment and ongoing support of Enterprise Splunk services<\/li>\n
• Use Splunk to collect and index log data, develop queries, log integration support, and reporting<\/li>\n
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Splunk<\/li>\n
• Architect, design, support, maintain, and expand Splunk infrastructure in a highly resilient configuration<\/li>\n
• Create Nagios BI model according to CIs dependencies from CMDB (BMC Discovery operation knowledge is a plus), Program the Nagios plugins for custom monitoring, Nagios troubleshooting and performance and Setup Monitoring for servers performance and availability<\/li>\n
• Configure required rules and thresholds in Nagios and Splunk according to best practices (as L2 working with requests from multiply IT teams), Provide capacity for Performance Management.<\/li>\n
• Setup Monitoring for all kind of IT services and applications technologies like (Tomcat\/Apache\/IBM WebSphere\/JAVA base applications, IIS) <\/li>\n
• To develop the monitoring teamwork and their skillset, create shifts schedules and control team`s adherence of the event management process.<\/li>\n
• To participate in setting of the team`s KPIs and Goals, collecting requirements and developing new monitoring toolsets if current available tools will not be able to cover provided monitoring requirements for the existing banking critical applications. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
