Technical Support Specialist
What We Do
The Teradata Base Support team is a 24×7 high volume global support center. Along with incident management, we provide technical\/functional knowledge necessary to resolve customer\u2019s problems, both internal and external.
What You\u2019ll Do
:
As a technical support specialist for Teradata\u2019s Base Support team, you will perform troubleshooting activities, escalate problems to the appropriate party(s), and assist in communicating the solution to the customer. You will develop and maintain a working knowledge of current hardware, software, firmware, processes, and tools. You are required to have both strong technical and interpersonal skills.

Provide frontline support to Teradata Customers in the Middle East Asia region<\/p>\n

Accept and respond to incoming calls and emails.<\/p>\n

Apply search tools to identify previously developed solutions and recognize patterns and symptoms. <\/p>\n

Research information and gather analysis. <\/p>\n

Isolate problem area through problem recreation <\/p>\n

Publish knowledge articles and lead team in one technical area of expertise <\/p>\n

Identify and share known solutions from knowledge base.<\/p>\n

Help end-users implement solutions. <\/p>\n

Track, monitor and maintain incident progress. <\/p>\n

Work set schedules including weekends and holidays.
Skills and Experiences You\u2019ll Need to Be Successful

(Basic Qualifications) <\/p>\n

Effective oral and written communications skills in English.<\/p>\n

Proficiency in Arabic is desired<\/p>\n

BA\/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience. <\/p>\n

Minimum of 3 years of Technical Support related experience. <\/p>\n

24×7 Support required.
Ideally, you will also have the following

(Preferred Qualifications) <\/p>\n

Knowledge of Support Center procedures and troubleshooting protocols. <\/p>\n

Strong knowledge of UNIX, Linux, Windows and other current operating systems.<\/p>\n

Knowledge of Teradata support tools including the installation of remote tools.
