Technical Support Engineer 2 (Avamar Team)
At Dell Technologies, world-class service doesn\u2019t end when a customer purchases our innovative products. Our Technical Support team is there for them whenever they need help \u2013 by phone or email, online and on social media. No matter how complex the challenge, we rise to it. We answer questions about the installation, operation, configuration, customization and use of Dell Technologies products. For critical matters, we use our systems to provide remote diagnostic technical support. If there\u2019s an issue with a customer\u2019s product, we\u2019ll analyze it, identify the cause, recommend a solution and document the problem.

What you\u2019ll achieve
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will resolve complex technical issues in a fast-paced, customer critical environment, working on improving processes, standards and strategies to perfect our Support Services.
You will:
\u2022 Resolve issues while working closely with multi-functional teams
\u2022 Provide feedback to Engineering for improving product quality and reliability
\u2022 Determine priority levels while negotiating and setting expectations with customers
\u2022 Ensure the customer is communicated with in a timely manner and treated with the highest degree of respect
\u2022 Drive excellence through quality closures and proper escalation of issues

Essential Requirements<\/p>\n

2 to 5 years of experience in a technical support role <\/p>\n

First-rate interpersonal skills, phone etiquette and work ethic <\/p>\n

Ability to work under pressure with calmness and composure <\/p>\n

Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills using operational and diagnostic procedures
Preferred Technical Skills<\/p>\n

Linux\/Unix<\/p>\n

Virtualization (VMware vSphere)<\/p>\n

Microsoft administration (Hyper-V, SQL, Microsoft Exchange)<\/p>\n

Database administration (Oracle, DB2, SAP)<\/p>\n

Storage<\/p>\n

RAID knowledge<\/p>\n

Cloud Infrastructure<\/p>\n

Networks
Desirable Requirements<\/p>\n

Bachelor\u2019s degree in related field<\/p>\n

French, German, or any 2nd European language is highly preferable<\/p>\n

Hands on experience in a backup and recovery environment, storage, and data center<\/p>\n
