POSITION PURPOSE<\/p>\n
\u2022 Deliver Conceptual \/ FEED and Detailed Design Engineering packages of work under supervision, and satisfy requirements specified by the Client or Project.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Comply with design rules and procedures in force within the Company. The proposed designs must be safe, economic and in accordance with requirements.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Assist assigned Project Engineers \/ Risk & Safety Engineering Team Lead with defining engineering document deliverables for allocated project scope of work.<\/p>\n
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES<\/p>\n
\u2022 Supervise engineer and graduate engineer grades as defined by project organisation chart.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Demonstrate and apply good knowledge in the relevant safety engineering tasks.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Prepare safety engineering deliverables to meet project schedule, statutory and the Company\u2019s rules.<\/p>\n
\u2022 During tendering, prepare safety engineering scope and man-hours estimates for submission to discipline lead<\/p>\n
\u2022 Check safety engineering deliverables in accordance with the Company group procedure.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Be efficient and fit for purpose in the delivery of solutions and documents and instruct junior engineers on principles of fit-for-purpose engineering.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Assist project manager \/ other engineering disciplines with defined safety engineering deliverables for allocated project scope of work.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Pro-actively interface with other engineering disciplines during project execution and identify the improvement opportunities with other related disciplines.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Report to the Risk & Safety Discipline Lead on progress of safety engineering tasks at a project level.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Identify and escalate areas of concern.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Attend \/ chair meetings \/ workshops with Clients, Suppliers and \/ or Consultants.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Assist Risk & Safety Engineering Discipline Manager with updating internal guidelines.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Build positive relationships within the Company and externally within related professional entities.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Develop and maintain knowledge of the Company group technologies and products relevant to the discipline.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Show respect for co-workers and a willingness to proactively address multi-disciplinary problems and an ongoing commitment to self-improvement. Identify and escalate HR issues to Discipline Lead.<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n
\u2022 University Degree in Engineering relevant to the discipline from a reputable institution, for instance as recognised by the Institute of Engineers Australia, or international equivalent (IMechE, IChemE);<\/p>\n
\u2022 Valid certificates from an RTO in functional safety and\/or hazardous area classification training (preferred)<\/p>\n
\u2022 Minimum of 6 years\u2019 experience in risk &safety engineering<\/p>\n
\u2022 Robust experience working within the oil and gas and chemical industries<\/p>\n
\u2022 Prior experience of multidiscipline teamwork<\/p>\n
\u2022 Prior experience of preparing a wide range of technical deliverables including calculations, simulations, drawings, and reports<\/p>\n
KNOWLEDGE\/SKILLS<\/p>\n
\u2022 Computer literate<\/p>\n
\u2022 Knowledge of safety engineering design and tools<\/p>\n
\u2022 Good written English for technical report preparation<\/p>\n
