AVSI Foundation has been operating in Jordan since 2006 and contributed in supporting the most vulnerable local communities, Palestinian, Iraqi and Syrian refugees through providing projects and activities that focus on health and psycho-social assistance, education, vocational training and job placement and income-generating activities.
About the position:
Maintain all accounting information, ensure that all accounting and financial transactions and data are correctly implemented according to policies and procedures, analyzing General ledger accounts and reconciles all types of accounts.
Role and responsibilities:
\u00b7 Ensure that all accounting and financial transactions and data are correctly provided and registered according to policies and procedures.
\u00b7 Ensure that all financial documents are accurately supported, approved and coded, and that all check list, petty cash, Posted Invoices are maintained correctly.
\u00b7 Monthly closure of all accounting transactions, including accruals, prepaid and any other.
\u00b7 Maintaining proper filing system for all financial documents both soft and hard copies as per internal procedures.
\u00b7 Assisting in the preparation of all governmental dues and taxations, Salaries taxes and Social Security contributions.
\u00b7 Participates and assists in the yearly and projects reporting and audit visits to ensure proper closure.
\u00b7 Updates job knowledge by participating in training and educational opportunities; reading professional publications and donor guidelines.
\u00b7 Willing and able to perform any other duties requested by the management within the area of competence.
\u00b7 Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Competencies:
\u00b7 A bachelor\u2019s degree in accounting or a relevant field.
\u00b7 A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in NGO\/INGO.
\u00b7 Excellent in Arabic and Proficiency in English.
\u00b7 Strong Interpersonal, oral and written Communication skills
\u00b7 Familiarity with accounting and financial management practices in humanitarian sector
\u00b7 Computer literacy and good knowledge in ERP Systems \u2013 Microsoft Dynamics Navision experience is a plus
\u00b7 Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office programs
