AVSI Foundation has been operating in Jordan since 2006 and contributed in supporting the most vulnerable local communities, Palestinian, Iraqi and Syrian refugees through providing projects and activities that focus on health and psycho-social assistance, education, vocational training and job placement and income-generating activities.
About the position:
Under general supervision, the Cash Controller is responsible for the verification and execution of all payments in accordance to AVSI\u2019s policies and procedures.
Role and responsibilities:
\u00b7 The cash controller will be responsible for the execution of daily payments in AVSI.
\u00b7 Ensure that all financial obligations are met in accordance with the policies and procedures.
\u00b7 Ensure that all documents related to the payments are accurately supported and approved.
\u00b7 Cash Count and reconciliation on a daily basis, in addition to daily check count.
\u00b7 Coordination and communication with all the banks.
\u00b7 Perform daily bank situation and justify discrepancies between bank and Organization books.
\u00b7 Forecasts, monitors and tracks cash flow and project situation, weekly monthly and quarterly.
\u00b7 Prepares and Submits Cash reports on a weekly basis.
\u00b7 Presenting, after the execution of payment, the receipt and all relevant documents to accounting for booking.
\u00b7 Willing and able to perform all other job duties and assignments as assigned by management.
\u00b7 Participates and assists in the yearly and projects reporting and audit visits to ensure proper closure.
\u00b7 Maintaining proper filing system for all financial documents both soft and hard copies as per internal procedures.
\u00b7 Updates job knowledge by participating in training and educational opportunities; reading professional publications and donor guidelines.
\u00b7 Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Competencies:
\u00b7 A bachelor\u2019s degree in accounting or a relevant field.
\u00b7 A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in NGO\/INGO.
\u00b7 Fluency in Arabic and English.
\u00b7 Strong Interpersonal, oral and written Communication skills
\u00b7 Familiarity with accounting and financial management practices in humanitarian sector
\u00b7 Computer literacy and good knowledge in ERP Systems \u2013 Microsoft Dynamics Navision experience is a plus
\u00b7 Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office programs
