GOPA is looking for a competent Event Manager (hereafter the Consultant) to oversee and organise a high profile Conference on Inclusive education in Amman. The Consultant will ensure the event is successful and cost-effective, paying attention to budget and time constraints. In this framework the Event Manager will be working in close coordination with different stakeholders (mainly GOPA and the event management company).<\/p>\n

Under supervision of the project Team Leader, the consultant is therefore expected to accomplish the following tasks:<\/p>\n

• Plan event from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives <\/li>\n
• Coordinate the various tasks needed to organise the IE conference <\/li>\n
• Oversee and coordinate the activities of the Event management company that will be contracted for this Conference in order to deliver a 2 days Conference in Amman on 8 and 9 March 2023<\/li>\n
• To propose ideas to enhance the event\u2019s success (including ideas for some side activities for the participants in between the sessions of the main programme)<\/li>\n
• Oversee budget, project spending and coordinate timely payments to suppliers <\/li>\n
• Supervise all staff \/ service providers (event coordinators, vendors, caterers etc.)<\/li>\n
• Ensure the whole event, plus its materials are inclusive and accessible for people with disabilities. <\/li>\n
• Ensure the conference is informed by principles of inclusion, participation and diversity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as event manager, including experience of organizing national and\/or international conferences<\/li>\n
  • Project management skills<\/li>\n
  • Knowledge of marketing techniques for event management<\/li>\n
  • Computer proficient in MS Office<\/li>\n
  • Outstanding organisational, communication and negotiation skills<\/li>\n
  • Skilled in problem-solving<\/li>\n
  • A team player with leadership skills<\/li>\n
  • BSc\/BA in PR, marketing, hospitality management or related field is preferred.<\/li>\n
  • Experience in working with International Development Organization is an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
