Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK with a 5 year footprint, in order to obtain the relevant security clearance.<\/p>\n

• The Technical Officer must be of a Technical status and have previous relevant post qualification experience<\/li>\n
• Technical – Ideally holding ONC, HNC or equivalent qualifications in an appropriate discipline. Alternatively demonstrate a strong technical building & civil engineering background together with proven relevant experience<\/li>\n
• Hold valid DE certification of relevant discipline<\/li>\n
• Hold a valid (3 day standard) First Aid certificate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Core Responsibilities and Duties<\/p>\n

  <\/p>\n

  General: Plans, manages and advises on, building and civil engineering works:<\/p>\n

  <\/p>\n

  \n
  • Prepare estimates of cost<\/li>\n
  • Prepare Option Studies<\/li>\n
  • Conduct AOS inspections (PQC and Asphalt)<\/li>\n
  • Develop new works proposals.<\/li>\n
  • Conduct technical building inspections Theatre wide.<\/li>\n
  • Interpret design regulations<\/li>\n
  • Undertake inspections including airfield pavement surveys<\/li>\n
  • Use commercial software for design, planning and report writing<\/li>\n
  • Advise on building and civil engineering problems<\/li>\n
  • Brief staff on building and civil engineering matters<\/li>\n
  • Recommend new works requirements to the client<\/li>\n
  • Advise on construction health, safety and environmental matters<\/li>\n
  • Supervise all site surveys and new works tasks<\/li>\n
  • Attend and\/or run Planning Meetings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Specific: Assume sole design responsibility for building and civil engineering layouts.<\/p>\n

    • Assist in designing mechanical and electrical engineering elements<\/li>\n
    • Assist in the preparation of tender documents<\/li>\n
    • Supervise design drawing production<\/li>\n
    • Produce design drawings<\/li>\n
    • Write specifications<\/li>\n
    • Liaise with client, contractors and authorities<\/li>\n
    • Produce bills of quantities, stores and materials lists<\/li>\n
    • Estimate labour and equipment requirements<\/li>\n
    • Plan for Health and Safety and notifiable CDM 2015 tasks<\/li>\n
    • Liaise with mechanical and electrical disciplines<\/li>\n
    • Process new work requests<\/li>\n
    • Check building and civil engineering designs<\/li>\n
    • Control and update site records, as-built drawings, documents<\/li>\n
    • Advise and liaise with project clients<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
