Manager position reporting to the Head of Legal and Compliance AME (operationally) and to Head of Airbus Export Control (functionally)
Purpose
Airbus Group is committed to conducting its business with honesty and integrity, in accordance with all local and international laws and regulations. The Head of Airbus Export Control responsible for developing export controls compliance across the Company. The Regional Export Control Manager for Africa and Middle East (AME)is responsible for helping to this goal in giving support and guidance to region-based export control managers or focal points in the various countries of the region. This position is located in Dubai.
Main Responsibilities

  • Provide Export Control support and advice to all businesses in the region covering Airbus Commercial, Airbus Helicopters and Airbus Defence and Space, in a one-roof / cohesive regional approach
  • Support the implementation of the Airbus Export Control Program in the region by defining objectives, setting up appropriate data classification and license management processes, and tracking corrective actions, in accordance with the Airbus Export Compliance Program Directives and Methods.
  • Serve as primary focal point for export audit requirements (internal and external).
  • Ensure the export control regulations to which Airbus is subject including local, European, UK and US export controls and EU/US/UN/local sanctions are understood and implemented locally, including by providing dedicated training sessions.
  • Ensure regulatory watch and monitoring of the countries of the region as well as flow-down of latest developments to AME / European LOE/Export Control team members.
  • Support investigations into potential breaches of export control regulations as required.
  • Actively support the business to de-risk export control issues as early as possible, notably through contract or business reviews.
  • Animate and support the local network of Export Control focal points.
  • Travel as required to support the AME Legal & Compliance team and business units operating in the region (team meetings, business support, etc.)
  • Work in close coordination and alignment with the AME Legal & Compliance team (LYM).

Required Educational Background and Experience

  • Min 5 years of experience working in a multinational environment advising on in export control matters
  • Good working knowledge of Fr, EU, German, UK, US and local export controls
  • University educated with legal background
  • Strong leadership and communication skills sound business judgment ability to appropriately involve others in consultations and decisions
  • Excellent writing skills required to write and edit policies and procedures, reports and memorandums
  • Strong relationship building, networking, interpersonal and communication skills
  • High degree of initiative, credibility, independence, integrity, confidentiality and trust
  • Ability to quickly earn the respect of senior management in order to be credible and effective in this complex and constantly-developing environment,
  • Languages: fluent in English French and/or Arabic are considered a plus.
