Manager of Corporate and Government Innovation

Job Description

College/Department Profile
The Office of Strategic Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Economic Development (SIEED) has been established in Fall 2021 in the QU President Office to initiate, manage, execute, and/or coordinate developments of the President Office innovation and transformation cross-strategies and initiatives (e.g. Innovation & Entrepreneurship strategy, Digital Transformation Strategy, etc.) among other strategic innovation and transformation duties and functions. The SIEED Office is also particularly focused on design, management, and execution on the evolution of holistic and mature QU Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Economic Development Ecosystem across all QU sectors and emerging companies and ventures in integrated manner with the National Innovation & Economic Development ecosystem. This particular focus is in the process of realizing QU new vision aiming at positioning Qatar University as a .. Catalyst for Sustainable Socio-Economic Development of Qatar and is closely integrating with state transformation efforts into Innovation & Knowledge Based Economy (iKBE) as envisioned in Qatar National Vision 2030, the National Development Strategies, and Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation (QRDI) 2030 Strategy.
Duties & Responsibilities
1.Lead the office efforts in establishing strategic collaborations and implementation of organizational and socio-economic development innovation programs and activities with national Corporate, Government, and Public sector organizations in line with QU and QRDI strategic goals, and Qatar National Vision 2030
2.Lead, coordinate, and/or assist in establishing related University strategic alliances with relevant national and international innovation and socio-economic development support institutions and entities such as QFFD, QF, QRDIC, QDB, UN Development Program, World-Bank, ALECSO, etc.
3.Lead the management of relevant emerging joint University-Corporate/Government innovation steering committees and taskforces on operational and tactical levels
4.Lead and manage the emergence of University Corporate and Government Innovation multidisciplinary scholarly groups to contextually and nationally advance the design and implementation of research-informed programs, models, and policies for accelerating national Corporate and Government Innovation
5.Lead and/or assist in developing (with key related stakeholders) strategies for innovation programming that helps building and strengthening the field of Corporate, Government, and Public sector innovation nationally in line with QRDI strategic goals and QNV 2030, including establishing clear goals and measuring progress towards those goals
6.Lead the efforts for attaining diverse set of funds from a variety of organizations and donors for scaling up incepted, piloted, and emerging Corporate and Government Innovation programs and initiatives
7.Oversee the development of materials, policy reports, and presentations outlining trends and strategic directions in Corporate, Government, and Public Sector Innovation.
8.Review, develop, document, and disseminate best practices in the field Corporate, Government, and Public Sector Innovation nationally, regionally, and internationally
9.In collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, coordinate, design and/or implement Corporate/Government innovation training seminars and programs for key related stakeholders in Corporate, Government, or University and evaluate their impact
10.Develop and implement assessment, evaluation, and research methodologies related to impact and evaluation of the office portfolio of Corporate/Government innovation programs and projects scholarly disseminate the outputs.
11.Assist in design and delivery of curricular components and/or digital learning modules to integrate Corporate and Government Innovation concepts, theories, models, and/or experiential activities wherever potentially possible in QU education ecosystem supervise/co-supervise graduate theses in relevant fields
12.Lead or help in organization of national and international Corporate/Government innovation events or conferences in collaboration with other office members and key stakeholders internally and externally
13.Any other duties as assigned by direct line manager.
