Job Title: Specialist Commissioning

Reports To: Global Field Services Manager

Position Summary

Provide commissioning and start-up management assistance to our customer’s in order to maintain integrity and high quality of our engineered product equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Manage start-up and commissioning of sold units and build-own-operate equipment; ensure all required documentation is in place for customer/O&M handover
Maintain a current HYSIS and evaluate process equipment flow diagrams for consistency and contractual recoverable obligations
Ensure that client engineering services on-site are apprised of any special protocols that might be needed to evaluate the equipment and/or plant performance
Analyze repetitive occurrences and provide technical solutions to commissioning team and customer
Facilitate commissioning schedule and direct daily work activities of team members
Provide detailed commissioning progress reports to Exterran field & corporate offices
Revise level-4 scheduling and add resources where needed to ensure contract milestones are up to date

Ensure a safe work area is maintained at all times and that Exterran HSE guidelines are in effect
Provide leadership and mentoring to commissioning team

Required Education

University Graduate; either Process, Petroleum or Chemical Engineer

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers internal as well as external
Ability to write technical reports
Ability to field engineer & calculate process improvements
Ability to apply engineering concepts to troubled areas
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Critical thinking and decision making skills are essential to balance customer needs with company cost issues
Good customer management skills are required in order to maintain customer confidence both internally as well as externally
Must be a team player and self-starter and have the ability to work with little/no supervision

Physical Demands

Requires employee to frequently type and use a computer and other office equipment, such as copier, printer, calendar, telephones, etc.
Requires operation of heavy equipment, such as forklift on a rare frequency
Requires employee to stand for at least 75% of the time
Requires employee to sit for at least 25% of the time
Requires employee to constantly climb stairs or ladders to inspecting, repairing and painting equipment and must be able to maintain balance on stairs or ladders without assistance.
Must be able to communicate and respond to: coworkers, customers and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices
Must be able to frequently lift at least # 5pounds
Requires work in outdoor conditions, including Extreme heat, extreme cold, unairconditioned facility, snow, sandstorms, sun exposure, strong wind
Requires work on loud environment
Requires moving and maintaining self in different positions stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
Must wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, helmets, face shields, hearing protection, safety goggles, steel-toed boots, as applicable.
Position requires travel 10% of the time
Position requires employee drive 25 % of the time, 5% permanent in one location
