Duration: 6 months with provision for extension of another 5 months (based on acceptable performance)
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

To support this, the HR Career Management Branch (HRMTC) plays a key role given its mandate of being responsible for performance management, employee engagement, learning and development, career management, and WFP’s internal promotion system.
To support the Branch in achieving its goals, we are currently seeking to fill a junior graphic designer consultancy vacancy.
ACCOUNTABITLITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In close collaboration with a team of designers and colleagues within HRMTC, deliver creative and innovative ideas for print, electronic, web-based and animated designs including but not limited to infographics, tools, templates, brochures, banners, posters, flyers, charts, reports and animations, in line with WFP's corporate branding guidelines;
- Contribute to the development and updates of the design for programmes, initiatives and publications based on HRMTC's new branding look and feel;
- Provide support, as required, on graphic design/comms needs to to all HRMTC teams. This includes new initiatives while also supporting recurring core initiatives;
- Follow through the design process for print collateral, liaising with external parties for final production;
- As required, create animations and edit videos as part of upcoming comms campaigns;
- Propose innovative and creative solutions to enhance communication initiatives managed by the Branch;
- Assist with other projects and initiatives within the team, as required.
DELIVERABLES QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. Timely support provided as required for different teams within the branch
2. Supported updated design of existing HRMTC online and print materials
3. Design support provided for continued activation of Leadership Framework
4. Supported development of required design elements for the Career Resource Center Programme toolkit and the Critical Skills Academy
5. Contributed to development of updated materials for the International Professional Promotion process
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education:
Bachelor's University Degree in Graphic Design or any other relevant field
Experience:
2-3 years of work experience in graphic design for print and digital media, with a strong portfolio.
Knowledge and Skills:
• Proficient in adobe creative suite but not limited to Acrobat, AI, PS, ID, XD, AE
• Strong animation, and video editing skills
• Strong, conceptual thinker who possesses a wide range of design capabilities including a solid background in print, branding, typography, retail graphics and web design experience
• Strong knowledge of current and emerging design trends with a creative flair, originality and a strong visual sense
• Demonstrated ability to lead medium to large design projects, from proposal to final product under the supervision of the project manager
• Detail orientated designer who can make creative decisions.
• Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple priorities.
• Highly organized, with excellent communication and written skills.
• Ability to interact comfortably with different levels of management and functional teams and is a great team player.
• Proficient in Microsoft software like PowerPoint and Word.
Languages:
Excellent knowledge of English. Good working knowledge of a second UN language preferably French, Spanish or Arabic is desirable.
