Duties and Responsibilities
– Under the IT officer request, provide support in monitoring of WFP programmes implementation.
-Liaise with admin and IT Team lead or deputy to ensure all services necessary for the registration to function fully are in place before deployment.
-Conduct the regular data quality checks during either registration exercises or card printing and provide technical backstopping to the teams when need arises
-Provide daily error feedback to the registration CPs in order to ensure that the daily data collected improves daily
-Prepare weekly sitreps for support activities of all activities assigned and ensure that a daily debrief is done with the SCOPE team lead or IT Officer.
-Analyse, categorize, and consolidate information about technical queries received and issues raised from CP’s, colleagues and if deployed; beneficiaries during the registration exercise and ensure appropriate feedback is given to the queries raised.
-Conduct field missions on WFP activities sites to both support and monitor the technologies deployed by implementation programme, the management and use of food/ cash assistance, the targeting and the respect of WFP principles by the CPs.
-Support the programme coordination efforts as required to ensure better implementation of WFP programmes
-Provide technical reports on any WFP programmes related issues on the field, including device usage, beneficiaries’ problems, and CPs behaviours in terms of partnership with WFP
-Follow- up open SCOPE cards related issues and provide feedback to the M&E focal point
-Liaise with admin and IT focal point and deputy to ensure all services necessary for the team to function fully are in place and the timely (car hire, tents, chairs/tables, fuel, generators)
-Conduct the regular data quality checks during the registration exercise across all the enumerators and provide technical backstopping to the enumerators when need arises
-Provide daily error feedback to the enumerators in order to ensure that the daily data collected improves daily
-Prepare daily sitreps for the registration exercise and ensure that a daily debrief is done with the Project Manager
Minimum Requirements
Education:
Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in Information and Communication Technology supplemented with Server, Networking and ITIL certifications.
Experience:
At least 3 years of progressively responsible work experience in the implementation and maintenance of computer information systems or related areas. Basic training and/or experience in standard WFP Beneficiary and Transfers Management systems. General knowledge of UN system policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
Language:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Somali is a requirement.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Proven knowledge and ability to effectively use basic software packages and commonly used office equipment. General knowledge of UN system policies, rules, regulations, and procedures governing ICT services. Knowledge of work routines and methods in order to complete processes under minimal supervision. Uses tact and courtesy to give and receive information to a wide range of individuals.Ability to identify data discrepancies and rectify problems requiring attention
- Ability to offer guidance or basic on-the-job training to more junior staff
- Knowledge of IT service desk tools and operational procedures is advantageous.
