About the team
The Corporate Affairs team protects and enhances Careem's reputation while building mutually beneficial partnerships with governments across the region. We engage a diverse and growing mix of stakeholders including Customers, regulators, partners, entrepreneurs, Captains, colleagues, and the general public. We develop strategies to connect all stakeholders to Careem's journey and build lasting relationships.
Formed by policy, communication, social impact, and creative specialists spread across ten cities in six countries, the diverse team is driven by a mission to simplify lives, inspire the technology ecosystem, and advance development across the region.
The Corporate Affairs team works closely with Careem's leaders to create an enabling environment to build the most trusted technology platform in the wider Middle East. A strategic approach to engagement and an alignment of values are what make this group effective.
What you'll do
- Develop and implement Government Relations Country Strategy and Engagement Plan
- Build compelling advocacy positions for the company's existing products and next products and services
- Build team to implement delivery of strategy and engagement plan
- Develop and maintain key relationships with line Ministries, regulator(s), and other KSA Government and non-government stakeholders at Minister, DM, CEO, VP levels
- Establish and advocate on policy positions and arguments to advance company's regulatory and policy objectives – thought leadership on country policy
- Manage company compliance and reporting requirements in line with existing sector regulations and contractual obligations
- Mitigate risk on compliance related issues
What you'll need
- 5-7 years of post MBA, JD,, graduate degree experience
- A diverse range of backgrounds could be the foundation for success in such a role including having worked in public policy, the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, public affairs or relations, regulated environments, management consulting, or law
- Comfort with starting from positions of regulatory uncertainty.
Where you'll be
- Even though we are working remotely, we are strong believers in collaboration and the power of building social connections with our teams. For that reason, our offices are still open and provide plenty of collaboration-friendly spaces at times when teams need it or if you need a quiet space to work outside of home.
- You'll be working in the location you're hired from. Due to legal and compensation considerations, you will need to be based out of the country you're hired from as your primary work location.
