SUPPLY CHAIN PLANNER
PURPOSE, SCOPE AND IMPACT
- The Supply-Chain Planner is responsible for making sure that all forecasts/demands are received and that demands are sourced according to an agreed supply pattern in an efficient and effective ways.
- Geographical remit: Regional & Global
- Oversees order management and supply chain planning of specific category of items for the LSC
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitors material resources planning (MRP) suggestions, analyses supply and demand and makes appropriate recommendations to improve forecasting accuracy.
- Decides on orders fulfilment based on the delegation stocking strategy per category, priorities identified together with the requesters and the logistics team for the most effective & efficient Inventory Management.
- Based on the MRP system, creates draft order purchase, order transfers, order inter sites and work orders.
- Sets and updates the MRP system parameters and item settings in JD Edwards software.
- Is responsible for the LSC’s consolidated demand figures and proposes and monitors buffer stock based on their analysis for assigned categories.
- Maintains the Contingency Stock Items List if any in line with the LSC's Policy
- Contributes to setting stock-management policy for the LSC,in line with the Global Network Policies and considering all operational constraints
- Analyses Items historical behaviour and forecast accuracy, provides the requesters the results, main trends, and deviations
- Accompanies requesters’(s) focal points in making and correcting their forecasts monthly.
- Makes appropriate recommendations to the direct supervisor and Supply Chain coordinator in order to improve regional planning/forecasting accuracy.
- Decides on order fulfilment based on the delegation’s stocking strategy per product category, and in accordance with the priorities identified together with the requesting departments and logistics team, to ensure the most effective and efficient inventory management.
RELATIONSHIPS
Internally, mainly interacts within the Supply Chain Coordinator, Purchase, Warehouse, Med Log, Transport, Fleet staff, the global planning network and Supply Chain officers.

GENERAL DUTIES
- Be aware of the delegation’s objectives and activities
- Understand the three components of the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement
- Always apply the security rules
- Respect and observe the staff regulations of the ICRC in Jordan.
- The employee may be asked to perform other duties not covered in this job description as well as to provide support to other departments when and if necessary.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED
Certifications / Education required:
- University degree or Technical degree in related field such as Logistics, Business or Economics.
- Good command of spoken and written English and Arabic
- Computer literacy; good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems an asset (JDE, SAP, etc.)
Professional Experience required
- Typically, six to nine years overall professional experience, including three years successful experience in a supply chain/logistics department or similar.
- Technical knowledge of products and services used by ICRC assistance Division.
- Knowledge of enterprise resource planning software an asset.
